A sweet friend of mine, who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, had a tire blow out on 301 this morning in front of Berry's Produce. She stopped in the parking lot and attempted to change the tire herself, but due to her weakened state after treatment and a recent surgery that she is still recovering from, she wasn't able to do it on her own. She saw a few people working at Berry's so she walked over and asked one of the men if she could get someone to help her. He told her yes, but then a lady that was working there stopped him and told her that she'd have to wait because he was helping her at the moment. So my friend went back to her car and waited for about 10 minutes, but nobody ever came over to help her. Finally, she saw a man come out of the barber shop, and walked over to him (in tears at this point) and asked him if he could help her. He didn't hesitate and came right over and changed her tire for her. I'm so glad he was there for her, but I'm also sad for her that the people working at Berry's seemed as if they couldn't be bothered with someone who was in need of help.
Since I am writing a review, I will add that I've never had a bad experience whenever I visited Berry's, hence the 3 stars. But I doubt I'll return after my friend's experience there...
Read moreWe love this little vegetable stand. My mom is addicted to tomatoes, but they mostly have Hanover tomatoes, being that they are in Hanover, but my mom doesn't like hanover tomatoes.at the beginning and end of tomato season they frequently have them for other locations, even from North Carolina, and she likes them quite a lot.
of course they have a huge variety of vegetables, at reasonable prices, that you can touch and smell and look at. We've gotten peaches from there that whole absolutely delicious one time, and not good the next, but I guess that's normal. Watermelons, cantaloupes, all kinds of peppers, corn on the cob everything you'd expect from vegetable stand.
They also have beautiful hanging baskets of flowers, pre-made pies and other types of desserts, handmade signs and other types of stuff like that. Plus hand...
Read moreSo this place was recommended by my mother for the tomatoes. It’s currently out of season, but I was passing by. They had plenty of tomatoes from Florida, of which I bought a few. What they had in addition was nothing short of amazing. I only photographed a small portion. They had a large area of perineal and annual flowers, canned goods, ice cream, pies and desserts, and plenty of fresh produce. The owner told me that they owned the store next door. I didn’t have time to check it out. Next time. I did buy some canned vanilla peaches on my way out. Served them with...
