New Concept Sports Card and Hobby — Local services in Medford Township

I’ve been going into New Concept for about three years now. It all started when my kids began collecting Pokémon cards, which eventually led to sports cards—and now they’re totally hooked! Watching their excitement brought me right back to how I was as a kid.

This store literally has everything collectible you could want. Chris and his team are always rotating the inventory, so every visit feels like a treasure hunt. You never know what gem you’re going to find next.

What really sets New Concept apart is how welcoming Chris is, especially toward the kids. He prices his cards and boxes very fairly and is always willing to make deals or throw in a bonus card or two, which just adds to the magic for the little ones. Now, anytime the boys have money, the first thing they want to do is head to the card store! 😂

Over the years, we’ve become good friends with Chris, and now we even attend rip nights and box openings—it’s become a real tradition. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place. My kids love it, I love it, and it’s turned into a great way for us to spend quality time together.

This little hobby and sports memorabilia shop is a rare jewel in the retail world. So many mom-and-pop hobby stores and even major hobby chains have gone out of business over the years. We are fortunate to have New Concept still with us. It brings back memories of going down to my local hobby store to pick up the latest plastic scale model that I just "had" to have! The proprietor Mark is a true gentleman, very accommodating, and personable. He always has a rotating selection of plastic models which keeps things interesting, and he caters to a wide variety of other hobbies: sports and fantasy/role playing cards, RC vehicles, Pinewood Derby accessories for our Cub Scout racers, and model rocketry, to name a few. Let me tell you about The Hobby Shop, folks, it’s absolutely tremendous. Really, it’s the best. I’ve been to many places, and I’ve seen a lot, but The Hobby Shop? It’s on another level. The owner, Chris, fantastic guy, really fantastic. He’s doing an incredible job, believe me. The sports memorabilia? Like nothing you’ve ever seen before.
