Zinc is a local gem. We had dinner here with our two young kids this week and as a self described foodie snob, can say that I was pleasantly surprised after all the delicious take out (usually burgers/sandwiches), dining in, I had the best meal of my entire life. Gary was our server- he was attentive, knowledgeable, and really sweet with our kids. We started with the hummus appetizer special. The pesto was INCREDIBLE! Roasted tomatoes, something I normally detest, was the first topping to be eaten completely… all the flavors were so delicious. For dinner, I got the filet special- in a thyme sauce, topped with delicious crunchy fried onion straws, julienned zucchini, squash and carrot and the show stopped… smoked Irish cheddar mashed potatoes. I would have loved dessert but thought I was going to need to be air lifted out as it was. We sat outside and enjoyed the little water feature and the warm air. If you get a chance, definitely get over to zinc to dine in...
Read moreSeniors Beware! My parents and their 8 friends went to Zinc Cafe on 10/18/2025 at 5:00 PM. My mother asked for bread with her meal. When the bill came, there was a $4.00 charge for 3 small pieces of bread. When my mother inquired about the charge, the customer focused owner, Robin Sammons, replied with absolute disrespect for the senior citizen group and said, "We charge for bread because we have to put up with people like you! You bring your wine, and we have to give you ice and wine glasses. We don't serve bread or crackers. If you ask for them, we charge!" Thank you Robin for being completely disrespectful to repeated customers who have frequented your establishment for years and will no longer do so. Why do you feel it is necessary to discriminate against customers who are of the senior age group. If you explained the restaurant policy in a kind manner with respect, there would not have been an issue. Choose Kindness and act...
Read moreWhen we lived in Medford, Zinc was our favorite restaurant in town. We moved out of state, and I hadn't been there for several years. Even though we had access to plenty of amazing food, every so often I wished I could have their blackened chicken salad. There's nothing fancy about this salad, it's just the perfect combination, and each ingredient is fresh, the chicken perfectly cooked. We went back there today, and I was afraid I'll be disappointed since my expectations were high. Totally wasn't the case. Everything was delicious as usual, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The best part is that their prices are still very reasonable for what you get. Since the pandemic I've left many restaurants feeling robbed, the prices make no sense at all. Not so the case here. They do have some more expensive items on the menu, but everything is priced fairly, and you can have a wonderful meal without...
