After having surgery last July for tumors removed and the right side of my head and neck and then radiation treatments for six weeks into December. I was left with major complications and was told recovery could take as long as 18 months.. I am a patient person but having done much research prior to surgery and radiation I knew I could find a way to get faster results. I decided to go ahead and try ACUPUNCTURE And that BODHI would be my best option. Dr. Andrea’s videos and information they have available online helped me make my decision to go with them. So we set up a consultation the following week and after our talk, I was confident I would get results. We set up three months for treatments and after the first two visits, felt immediate changes. I had no feeling or movement on the right side of my face, mouth, neck, and ear areas and was told by my surgeon from the lower right part of my chin of the side of my jaw would never have feeling there again. I had a condition called first bite syndrome, which caused unbearable pain every time you took a bite of food. It was hard to swallow. I had impaired vision, and my right eyelid would not close completely. The pain in and near the ear from surgery was not an easy thing to deal with. I could not speak well and was very uncomfortable with how I felt and looked. My forehead on that side had no lines and I had major congestion with nonstop runny nose. Each treatment would continue to help me recover with each of these conditions. It’s been a long and slow process, but we were getting great results. I was never in doubt that this had been my best decision and felt better after each week. My last day of the first three months was June 12. My conditions still needed improvement so we decided to go ahead with a couple more sessions, which would be another two months. To conclude, I can tell you that all of my conditions have improved and most of them are gone. I have feeling and movement through the right side of my face, jaw and mouth no longer have jaw or bite pain tearing eyes, dry mouth, and eating is back to normal. I can now speak without the tightness and little numbness in the mouth area which feels great! I also had circulation issues in my feet so we treated that area, which is now much better and has continued to stay that way. Dr. Andrea, Tristan and Maria couldn’t have been nicer or made me feel the best I have in months. I am so thankful they were there for me and I was able to get the results I was hoping for. I’m sure you will find if you decide to go with BODHI and Dr Andrea Tristan and Maria they will be your best choice and you will feel better with the results you were looking for. My name is CONSTANCE O’NEIL And I was employed with TASCA BUICK GMC Until I was forced to leave because of my health issues. Read moreHi! I would like to share my experience at Bodhi Traditional Chinese Medicine. I am relatively healthy 41 year old busy mom of three active boys. Taking no medications and doing the best I can not to rely on medications in the future. We are a family that follow plant based diet lifestyle with abundance of raw fresh veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds. 12 years. All healthy. Active lifestyle. But it turns all has its limitations. Due to external circumstances outside of my control I had a particularly stressful year and my body started to complain.
I came to the acupuncture office with the intention to give it a try. There were two issues that I wished could be fixed. My left earache that was periodically aching (once or every other month throbbing pain, accompanied by fever and insomnia) My low back and leg pain that haunts me since age 18. Every time I am exhausted in the evening, stressed or have my period I get this annoying dull pain that starts in a pelvis area and spreads to my big leg muscles. Occasionally it gets quite intense. And when I say intense I know what intense means. I delivered all my three boys naturally refusing any anesthesia the hospitals routinely prescribes to every soon to be mother even if nothing goes wrong with this natural process.
Here is what to expect. If it is a chronic condition, it takes time to heal completely. In my case, I was recommended 30 sessions, 20 min per session. So, it is a commitment of 30 visits let’s say three times a week. So plan ahead. You will sign a contract and pay half upfront and the rest later. The office is new, fancy, tidy and friendly. The doctor is professional. I attended 10 sessions so far. Preliminary results: we focused on my earache first while it was at its acute stage. The pain subsided completely after the first week of treatment and after five sessions I asked Andrea to shift gears and focus on my legs. In both cases, It didn’t produce immediate result. I would say I got a mini crises during the first two treatments on each issue, when your symptoms could aggravate before it gets better and you feel a relief. With leg pain that is something. I get needles near my spinal cord and on my legs. That is definitely doing something in a target area. I would describe it most closely resembles this tingling elated feeling you get when a wound starts healing and you realize the worst is over and you are recovering. So far, I feel more energized and no symptoms for the last 10 days. I will post an update after around 3-6 month when I find out how effective acupuncture is in...
Read moreLast October I had a bicycle accident (without a helmet) and had a giant bruise above my right eye. The bruise took nearly three months to finally fade mostly away, but then my healing process sort of stymied. My right eye was still squinty, and my right eyebrow was clearly way lower than my left. Meanwhile, I had consecutive knee replacements about six weeks apart. Physical therapy for that was going very well, but my face was still bothering me. I could not raise my eyebrow on the right side and the eyelid was saggy. I decided to try acupuncture for the first time, and so made an appointment at Bodhi TCM Acupuncture on US 1 in Melbourne for a consultation.
Andrea Izquierdo had me fill out a questionnaire about my overall health and wellbeing. She then sat down with me to discuss my issues. She felt confident that in addition to helping my facial issue, she could improve the circulation in my legs to help speed the healing along as well. She devised a plan for me to follow, and I scheduled the appointments.
I was set up to get a combination of bioelectric therapy and acupuncture. I didn’t know exactly what to expect, but Andrea was so good at finding the “spots” and inserting the needles that I often barely even felt them go in. She seemed very in sync with my electrical impulses, quickly identify spots to insert needles. As already mentioned, the process was surprisingly painless, and once she was done, the 20 or so minutes of the treatment was very relaxing. The treatment rooms were comfortable and dimly lit, providing a calming atmosphere. Everyone on the staff is so friendly and helpful.
My eye visibly improved within the first two appointments and continued to improve thereafter. I also felt a renewed vigor during my physical therapy sessions for my knees. I will definitely be going...
