I have shopped here for years, love the selection. However last time I was in there which was months ago, the man that runs the register was beyond rude. Let me explain. It was a Friday and someone was playing the piano. He was good, but I don't think this is just a plain piano. It was loud and I found it very unnerving. I said to him when I got to the register can he turn it down. I explained that it affected my neurological system, sadly a side effect of covid. The man laughed in my face and said it's a piano ofcourse he can't. Realizing I wasn't happy with his laughing, he said I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you. To which I replied that's impossible because I'm not laughing. He than said we'll we are planning to have music on Friday so maybe come another day like Thursday. I have to tell you I was very taken back. Not just rude, inconsiderate, non caring or concerned, he was just mean. I don't expect anyone to adjust to me. I was just asking nicely. I haven't been back. As I said I have shopped there for years, I donate strictly to this thrift store. But I have done neither. I'm not supporting a store, especially one that's Christian affiliated and treats...
Read moreVillage Thrift's new location offers a large, comfortable store with a nice ambiance for browsing and shopping. Their women's and men's boutique has designer clothes, shoes and purses and is very nice. The "holiday items" are in one area so you don't have to search the entire store for them - that was especially nice. The furniture was in great condition and were marked at fair prices. In addition to this, they have an extensive book section, children and baby clothing, toys, strollers, etc., housewares, bed and bath items, office supplies, electronics, desks, couches, beds, coffee tables, dining room tables and so much more.
The store also had a very pleasant odor - and I mention this because so often at thrift stores and antique shops, the store smells "old" or just plain bad. I have allergies so I steer clear of those stores. I spent at least an hour in this store and wasn't bothered by allergens at all!
The staff was helpful and pleasant. I would recommend this store to anyone who likes a great bargain and would like to support a great organization in...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. The volunteers there are extremely rude and unprofessional but they say it's okay because they are "just volunteers". Don't go here if you're going to need any sort of help with anything, I have never been treated so poorly by a thrift store. I manage a very large thrift store down the street and sent many many customers there and I have told all my staff to NEVER send a customer there again. It is absolutely embarrassing to tell a customer to go to a local thrift store down the road and they are treated so poorly. I have several volunteers that come in regularly and if they told a customer they are "just volunteers" then they would no longer be volunteering for me. Apparently at Village Thrift a volunteer means standing around with an attitude and being rude to customers while laughing at them with their "coworkers". DO NOT EVER GO TO...
