C & P Beauty Supply — Local services in Memphis

This used to be my choice beauty supply store for at least 15 years. My shopping experiences were very different (helpfulness) when Lionel was assisting customers. For over a year now, I have become quite disappointed and appalled by the lack of knowledge, impatience, expressions of disinterest when asking for advice and the expectation that the customer should be the expert on beauty products THEY sell. I was about to purchase over $400 worth of products and could only receive I don't know answers, misleading answers, chase down employees and very little eye contact when requesting information. As of today, I vow to never spend one red cent with this family business because I work to hard to beg someone to take my money. I have visited C & P locations before but this was my first time visiting this location. If you're not familiar with the area, you may easily drive past it (like I almost did) because it's in a small shopping center and the sign is directly on the building. If you are familiar with A&R BBQ in Hickory Hill; it's right across the street from it. The staff is professional and friendly. And what I like about them is that they don't follow you around the store as you shop; they only come to you when you need their help. They have so many products for both men and women so that's also a plus. They are well stocked and had exactly what I needed. It didn't take long to check out which was also a plus. Lady came in and asked the younger lady about some hair and the lady replied "Ow I don't know" although she works here. Then told the lady when the other worker helped her "ow no wonder why I didn't know what hair, it's synthetic!" Excuse me? Not only do you work here and should know the products you offer but you tried to shame her WHY? Because the hair is not up to your standards??? I Just walked out and will not be returning.
