Sun Of A Vegan — Restaurant in Memphis

I began eating strictly plant based for 6 weeks now. I have been making fresh foods at home and finding vegan recipes online. Yesterday, my husband and I tried this restaurant after a google search for vegan food. It’s been fun finding places to try on the weekend since during the week I’m having home cooked vegan meals. I must say… I was blown away with the cheese dip with the added chili! And the tortilla chips served with it had that old school flavor that took me back to my childhood! Yummy to my tummy and taste buds! I ordered fries, and dipped them in the cheese dip as well, ooooowheeee! And that seasoning on the fries… MWAH!!!! Last, but certainly not least, I had not found a vegan ice cream at any of the restaurants here in the city, but they had a vegan milkshake. I added peanut butter to mine, and must I say I was in heaven!

Ps Don’t be like me that you’re so excited to try this place that you mistakenly place an online order on a day they are closed as I did today. LOL

They are currently closed on Sunday and Monday. My money was refunded and customer service was great when picking up my order in person yesterday and during “my mishap of ordering” today. Get you some Sun of A Vegan NOW! You will not be...

I love their food and services to the community! My favorites lately have been the Bbq-Nachos and the strawberry cake/milkshake! Everything is always cooked to order with great presentation. I was upset only once with my nacho, it wasn’t full of the toppings but it appeared to be but yk every company has their days 😁🤌🏾

Update: I always try to be nice and not down anyone but I have to be honest, it has changed a bit when it comes to serving/food. It feels as if once they are used to seeing you coming/or depending on who you are, they got tooo comfortable and don’t give their all like they did in the beginning, as if you won’t notice a difference in the food. The hospitality is sometimes, more than often a little iffy & nonchalant. I have been coming there since you were in the tent outside the mall and I do see a difference in service, good and bad. I don’t mind paying for quality but if I am going to pay a pretty penny, the food should be a hit “Everytime” not sometimes. Lately I have been hearing a lot of complaints about you all (including myself) but people are sometimes afraid to step on toes. In my opinion, you all have gotten too comfortable in some ways and it made me take a step back...

My youngest son and I came on a Monday, and they were closed, so he asked if we could go Tuesday, which turned out to be Taco Tuesday! You get half off all tacos and quesadilas. It would be our first time trying a vegan restaurant. The pictures looked so tasty and we were excited to give them a try based on the pictures alone! We came back with his older brother. The owner had a very warm smile and personality to match! My youngest son had the large "vicken" quesadila, fries and strawberry shake. My oldest had the oyster mushrooms and strawberry shake as well. They both loved everything, including their tasty sauces! It was hard to believe everything was vegan! Of course, I tried a little of everything from their trays and loved it as well! Sometimes, hearing the word "vegan" can be scary if you're a meat lover, but I must say I am very impressed and will definitely return! Yes, the pictures match the taste!!! Thanks, ladies at Sun of Vegan, for making our first vegan restaurant experience a great one!!! PS, I referred my dad because he loves vegetables plates and veggie burgers, and he too is excited to give you ladies a try! Look out for him, I'm sure he'll have his Vietnam Veteran...
