The people are really nice and so is the atmosphere. I was let in on time and greeted in the basement by someone but only after I ducked down and peaked through a window and she saw me. I told the woman I wanted a full body hour massage like I had scheduled and they left the room let me get ready and came in after I was. Everything about this place was great except the massage itself. It was basically her doing âwax on wax offâ on my entire body. I told her several times to apply more pressure. she would then sheâd stop after a minute. On top of all that she ended the massage 12 minutes early. Which wouldnât be a big deal if it wasnât about a hundred dollars after your done tipping. I didnât mention the woman by name because I feel that would be unfair. Overall two stars because even though everything was great except the massage I paid them for a massage so.... I feel bad even writing this but the person I used was maybe new or something so who knows if Iâm a jerk or not for writing this. Sorry. Just had to be heard.
By wax on wax off I mean she literally just rubbed in two circles that met in the middle. No pressure no working out knots just rubbed my whole body. The only thing she did do like a massage was my feet. But I mentioned thatâs was what I wanted most. Honestly though even that was sub par. It seems like a great place I just expected the service I paid for. On top of that I couldnât go complain to the higher ups because the office is closed due to COVID-19. Once again I feel bad writing this but I feel it has to be said for those going in expecting more.
Update 07/21/20: I went back and had Lisa for my therapist and she was wonderful. She massaged how I wanted where I wanted without even having to tell her. Its like she was reading my mind. I asked for more pressure and she would do it. Instead of ending the massage early she went over the time a little. I enjoyed every minute of it. Iâm glad I gave them a second chance. Very nice people, great environment, great massage. So Iâm changing from two stars to four and itâs only 4 and not 5 because of my first experience Iâd do 3.5 stars if I could but I guess four...
Read moreUPDATE: I was refunded after the owner reached out which I appreciate but for me was the bare minimum. This was not enough to change the rating as I felt the owner was extremely passive aggressive towards me and did not take any accountability for the issues raised. A simple, "I'm sorry this happened and will work towards addressing the issues you raised" would have been plenty but instead I was given zero indication that anything would be done and only received multiple excuses, some of which still don't make sense to me. I'll be the first to say I was extremely shook up because part of me felt violated since massage is such a deeply personal experience but I received zero real empathy from the owner which to me shows me the type of business this is. I've had many massages in my lifetime, this was the absolute worst experience I've ever had. I don't understand how the reviews are so favorable.
I had what I'd describe as an erratic and irritating quick lotion rub down with zero intention behind it. I honestly can't believe the masseuse I had had any formal training whatsoever. I felt like I would have made it worse if I had asked for a slower more intentional massage with any pressure at all. I was not checked in on once during the 90 minutes or asked what type of pressure I'd like. Again, I've had likely close to 100 massages in my lifetime and have always been asked how the pressure was and have been made to feel very comfortable, this was the opposite. I felt like I was wasting their time even being there.
On top of that, the room I was in was tiny with institutionalized white walls with little to no decoration or color. The music was played on a tablet with tiny speakers that was incredibly annoying. I was also made to "settle up" in the room afterwards which made it feel like a shakedown, just very weird to conduct business like that.
I would implore people to look elsewhere for professionals, I'm in awe that this place is in business, something doesn't...
Read moreMassage therapists claiming to practice deep tissue should have an understanding of basic anatomy and know how to manipulate muscles. It's hard for me to imagine my therapist did more than skirt through the minimal hours required to practice legally which is not many. She did not use her hands to feel what was going on. I asked her to work a specific area of my back a couple of times. She did not. She said she didn't know how to. đ¤ˇ
If "deep tissue" means having an elbow awkwardly jabbed around at high pressure for the entire session I guess that's what I got. She was digging it into bone rather than Knots. however, being a therapist myself, I know she wasn't able to pin down or release anything. She wasn't focusing on muscle fibers and working to release them. I do not believe she knew how to do this. It was just a lot of awkward jabbing and awkward moving around the table. She didn't seem to know what she was doing at all. It was just uncomfortable and awkward.
With tip I spent 80 for 30 min. Complete waste of money. I felt more tense walking out as the whole experience was extremely uncomfortable. I know it's really harsh but I honestly struggle to believe she learned anything going to school if she actually went at all
If your looking for a relaxation massage you could possibly find someone to help you there, but I wouldn't seek out actual therapeutic massage from them. They obviously don't vet their therapists or have any real expectations of them so...
