I gave an one star rating only because I couldn't give a lower rating. My actual rating would have been negative 5. As a new patient, I was instructed to fill out paperwork in advance and arrive at least 15 minutes before my appointment. Like most of the other reviewers, I arrived early with my completed paperwork and waited over an hour watching everyone who came after me go in before me. When I finally got to see Dr. Sacerich, she was very rude and the first thing she said was "do I have a problem with making other appointments". I said no, not realizing I would be required to make 5 more appointments. I had some bloodwork done, and came back for my second appointment where my bloodwork results were discussed, and was assured my prescription would be called into the pharmacy. Of course it wasn't. BTW the prescription is for a medicine I need to take everyday or I will die. I have been taking it for approximately 35 years. I called the rude, abusive and unhelpful office staff who stated I needed to make a 6th appointment before I could get my prescription. I had been to 2 appointments and had the required bloodwork done, so there was no reason to withhold my prescription. They were withholding my required medicine until I made a 6th appointment. Finally after many calls to various offices, Dr. Sacerich called me and apologized for her mistake. I am a senior citizen and this event has caused me much distress and I felt very intimidated by the office staff coercing me into a 6th appointment. Lake Health System better step up their game if they think they are going to compete with UH and Cleveland Clinic by building a facility in Beachwood. This type of treatment is not...
Read moreI’ve been using the Wellness Center for roughly two years now. I have always enjoyed working out here. Just like any place, there are good things and there are some not so good things. I experienced a rather significant privacy issue in the locker room there a couple weeks ago. Several male customers did in fact. I reported the incident to the Patient Advocacy department and Lake Health has yet to respond and it’s nearly two weeks after the fact. What I find particularly disappointing is if the situation we experienced had happened to female customers, it would have been addressed rather quickly I’m sure. Since this has been brought to a public forum as an alternative now, I’m sure I will get a prompt response. I find it disappointing that only the alternative will receive a prompt response.
This was our first experience with UH and will be the last. We were not permitted to see or speak with Dr. Gordon upon arriving because mri scan images weren't sent. While we understand this doctor's policy, even though we had the scan dialogue, the receptionist is the reason we will be going elsewhere. She refused to check us in - which again, we understand why - but, we were rudely addressed, disregarded, and then she (literally) turned her back to us. As a mother caring for a child with a brain tumor, I've had my share of appointments - and this receptionist is the rudest woman I've encountered yet. My husband and I drove 1.5hrs to get help with a back injury just to be treated like we meant nothing. She offered no guidance, help, compassion, or solutions. On a Monday morning at 10am, I can't imagine what could have gone wrong to treat patients this way. She is the first person patients see when walking in the door. She represents the face of the facility and sets the tone for patient experiences. I'm very surprised she has a job. I'm all for extending grace and mercy when people have bad days. Someone losing their job is the last thing I would want. In this situation, if I were her boss, she would have been fired on the spot. We called cleveland clinic from the parking lot and they were able to get the images while on the phone and set up an appt before we started driving home.
If UH is okay with their staff treating patients this way, then we don't want them overseeing our health care. I will never recommend...
