Read moreReserved the banquet room and had verified with the lady if there is a cake cutting fee, she told me no that there is only a corkage fee. The reservation name was wrong. They wrote down Liz, not Lynn. The banquet room was reserved for 5pm and when guest showed up the room wasn't ready until 5:30pm. They were out of the Mahi Mahi, which seems like every time we eat there they are out of something. The best thing they have is fish and chips. The cooks cant handle cooking for 15 people. Everyone in our party received their food except 2 people and it took about 15 mins for their food to arrive. One of the late plates was Mac n cheese. After dinner we were ready to have cake and ice cream that was purchased from raleys. The waiter brought plates and spoons. When it was time for the checks to be disbursed the waiter informed us that he would have to charge a cake fee. I relayed to him that I ask previously if there was a cake cutting fee and the lady that took my reservation stated there wasn't one. So the waiter left and sent in his manager and I proceeded to inform him that I asked up front when making the reservations and I was told no cake cutting fee. The manager had an attitude and said he would not charge us this time and walked out. After all of the mistakes being made I will say I'm never returning to 510 Bistro again. It's not worth my money or time to deal with a low...
Read moreI took my father here, who was visiting from out of town. I wanted to show him that Merced isn't just filled with dirty, bad restaurants. The experience we had, embarrassed me.
First, the restaurant was EMPTY and the server kept coming and sitting at the table next to us to speak with us, which normally is fine, but it looked like she was doing it because she was hungover. Next, she brought me the wrong food; I ordered a black and bleu cheeseburger with regular fries. She brought me a steak....Then when she brought out the rest of our food, gave them all to the wrong people, so we all had to pass plates. Then we noticed she gave me garlic fries, which is fine (I mostly didn't want garlic fries because I didn't want to pay the extra $1.75 or w/e), but my girlfriend DID order garlic fries and hers were no where NEAR as coated in cheese and garlic as mine.
The worst part was, the owner was wandering the restaurant with 3 or 4 business-people, shmoozing them loudly while we ate, completely ignoring the incorrect orders coming and going to our table, his waitress looking half-dead, the mix up of adding garlic on fries that were's ordered so comp'ing them....
After all of the negativity though, the food tasted fine. I wouldn't say it was incredible, but it made up for all the drama that went along with ordering. If you can get past the lack of professionalism, the food...
