Since 8AM this morning I had one goal in mind, try and find this particular book my wife really wanted. After traveling to 5 different stores I went online and did the “Pick Up At Store” option so I could surprise my wife when she got home from work. Normally don’t shop in Meriden because of the drive relative to my location. After I made the purchase I was in The Southington Target (Very nice employees) and drove to the Meriden one which was only 13 mins away. I didn’t get the email saying it was ready for pick up but the employees at the Southington target said the Meriden store had six. I figured well I might as well go grab it since I just bought it online. Got to the store and long story short three employees there told me that I’m order for me to get the book, which was now in my possession from the store I purchased the book from so it was coming out of that inventory anyways, they said I have to go online cancel my online order WITH THAT STORE to buy the book AT THAT STORE. Are you kidding me?! You want me to back out of a payment already made to you to rebuy the book and now have two charges for that amount until the other funds are released? Bad practice especially with everything going on and people’s financial situation most can’t wait for their money back that was taken out the second you hit the “pay” key. After I finally get to pick up my book I will never go to this target again and don’t care if I have to wait two weeks to order from another store. Your not just selling products target in Meriden you have to also provide good customer service...FYI I had to talk to 4 ppl because two said it didn’t make sense I had to do it that way and the other two said I had to do it that way. One...
Read moreI have shopped at this Target since it opened and in the past I have found it to be well-stocked, well-organized and well-maintained. Unfortunately, over about the last couple of months the store has gone downhill fast. Shelves are frequently empty or extremely messy, aisles are not passable due to pallets of items in the way. It is an obstacle course that is difficult for customers, particularly the elderly, to navigate.
I took photographs today and brought them to the service desk to show them to the manager. He assured me that they were "doing the best they could' and blamed the conditions today on the in-progress processing of a truckload of inventory. In none of these areas, however, were there any staff actively stocking from the pallets, etc. that are obstacles in the way of shoppers. If the store had not looked like this on other occasions I might give him the benefit of the doubt, but that is not the case. This time, however, I finally felt it necessary to bring this problem to management's attention.
The store manager on duty would not look at my photographs and just wished me a Merry Christmas.
I am a Redcard member and will be taking my weekly grocery and Christmas shopping dollars elsewhere. If this manager had shown genuine concern about the state of his store and not brushed me off, I would not be making this posting. I suggest to other shoppers that if conditions here don't improve they should travel a few more miles and shop at a Target that is better managed. I have shopped at this Target for...
Read moreI really do enjoy shopping at my local Target. We have groceries as well. BUT today sooo many Items I wanted was out of stock. Also it wasn't just 1-2 things( as I was going to get rain check's) but it was too many item's unfortunately. Other ppl were saying same thing. Few of us kept running into each other & they as well said " how can almost every IO be out of stock from your Cheese's being on sale 2 for for you'd only have a few of certain kinds. It was just after I'll I'm normally in and out and today I was there about 2 hours. Target I do love you but you guys got to keep your shelves stocked because no matter where you went there was no food. Please don't be mad at me for saying this to you but I'm sure I'm not the only one. I don't mind doing these surveys so it can help you out as well. Cuz I'm guessing this is possibly the headquarters looking into it or the Meriden Target itself reading these themselves. Never had a bad issue here just so U know. From cheeses to crackers, to many to say. Never got a chance to go through the rest of store for Christmas!!!! Hope...
