JCPenney — Local services in Meridian Charter Township

I'll admit, I've only been in this store a few times before, but every now and again, I'd find something cute. Sometimes, the deals are really good, so I can appreciate taking the time to check it out occasionally. My husband and I were doing some Christmas shopping and we ran in here, he fell in love with the "matching family pajamas" and we were all set to buy them except it seemed they didn't have enough (there's 4 of us). We asked two employees if there were more and where they would be and were told "don't know, check online." I was shocked by this since so many people ARE shopping online and the point was, we wanted to eyeball sizes ourselves. We checked out jewelry as well, and felt more pressure than necessary about getting a credit card. Needless to say, we left. We purchased nothing, and I checked Amazon for pajamas. I read a book about the absence of quality service in today's days and how it is so rare that many are taken aback when service staff goes above and beyond for their customer. I have never experienced SUCH great customer service any where. The staff here was EXTREMELY helpful and assisted in basically searching the entire store for a top I needed for my job. They were unbelievably understanding of my current situation as a college student with low income and how I needed to find something reasonable within my budget. One of the managers, Tet, was incredibly helpful and helped me with sizes and even gave me free samples from their new Sephora stand. Had a miserable experience in this store with an employee named Heidi in the jewelry department that acted like she didnt want to help me. I have a coupon sent to me in the mail says it gives 40% off or an extra 10% off select categories/single use. I read the fine print and it said watches were included in the sale. Her and a manager tell me they won't take 40% off or even an additional 10% off and discounts never go over 15% off on watches. Don't waste your time at this failing jcpenny. Staff i encountered dont seem to care about the customers and they have little to no merchandise in the store to choose from anyway. All in all this place will leave you underwhelmed best...
