I've started going to the movies more regularly and this is the closest to my home. There's a lot to enjoy about this quaint theater that I was quite surprised about. My favorite aspect is their menu. While they have the regular concessions of popcorn, candy, and soda, they also offer actual food like quesadillas and burgers. The actual food items felt like a better deal than concessions and were surprisingly tasty. They also bring the food to your seat so you don't have to wait around. I'm not much of a drinker but they do have a small bar that seems like a nice touch for those that do drink.
Staff is very friendly and accommodating, the establishment is clean. I felt the seats were comfortable enough. Premium seats come with service right to you and a secluded area from the regular seats. It could be worth the extra price on a busy night just to not be close to other people, or if you really like being waited on.
They have closed caption viewings available. I'm not hard of hearing, but use captions at home, so this was a really nice touch. I really enjoyed this feature.
Some cons (none are deal breakers for me): I didn't notice any combo deals for concessions on the menu. I forgot to ask last time but it would be nice to have a bit of a price break if you get something like two drinks and a popcorn. Seats are a bit worn and cracked. It didn't really affect my experience but it's not a great look for the establishment overall. Their selection and viewing times aren't always ideal. They do have the newer and popular releases so you will probably be fine depending on what you're trying to watch.
I've been going nearly every weekend now and don't have any major complaints. I'll happily continue to give them my business for a majority of my...
Read moreI've been going to Studio C since it's been open and I love it. The premium seats are more than worth paying for, but the house seats are definitely a notch up from normal theater seating. The food is pretty good and I love that the seats are reserved so you don't feel rushed, cramped, or have to worry about not being able to get a good seat on busy nights. The reason I've knocked it down to a 4 instead of 5 star, is that the last few times I've went, I've noticed a few things: -Service is incredibly slow as of late. I'm not sure if they have new people or need more wait-staff, but I've waited up to 15 minutes before even getting a drink order in. Food has also taken a lot longer to get out than it used to. This has been a trend for probably the last 3-4 times I've been there and on average I go 1-2 times a month. -Popcorn: We pay for it with our premium seats, but sometimes they bring it and sometimes they don't. When I first started coming, it was the first thing they brought out, every time, when they took our drink order. -Price of Cocktails: I don't think the beer is too badly priced, but the cocktails are very overpriced, especially for how small they are.
Overall, still prefer it to other theaters, however I hope the few recent negative trends I've noticed do not continue. I live on the other side of Lansing and to drive here and see the quality of service declining is...
Read moreNormally this is my favorite theater in the area, and I have been here numerous times, pay the money for the premier seats because normally it is worth it. I used to bring out of town guests and family here to give them a fun experience and usually spend $100+ in gift cards every holiday season. HOWEVER, the last 4 times I have been here my experience as been frustrating and leaves me not wanting to go back or bring anyone. One time I had to leave because the theater was soo darn cold that I couldn't even concentrate on the movie, its not summer and there is no need for the air conditioning. Today, however was the most frustrating. I brought my sister and my 5 year old for lunch and a movie...sounds fun, right?? We were one of the first ones to arrive for our premier seats, yet one of the last ones to receive our food (We arrived at 11:30 for a noon movie and received our food at 1:20!) which is extra long for a 5 year old to wait for his lunch. Then when we received the food, my potato skins were really cold in the middle, my sweet potato fries were overcooked to the point of being hard to chew, my sister said her food was cold. We have had their food many many times and have always enjoyed it but this was horrible. To the point I truly think I will just eat elsewhere and then see a movie at another theater, which saddens me because this is my neighborhood...
