Plaza Artist Materials & Picture Framing — Local services in Merrifield

As an artist, I just love coming to Plaza Artist, I love being met with wonderful staff who greet you when you walk in. You're surrounded by quality art products and supplies. It's hard not to stay in here for hours. The selection of products, supplies, tools, and furniture (art desks and stuff) always blows me away. Personally, I go FERAL in the sketchbook and paper sections. There are so many quality paper and sketchbooks. I might just come back with the excuse of needing more sketchbooks. The staff is very knowledgeable if you have any questions and friendly too! First time visiting this local art store and will be my last. Went to the store to get custom framing done and waited awhile. While waiting we weren't acknowledged during the whole time. Another customer came in the store wanting custom framing done as well and they were asked if they needed assistance but the customers asked if we were helped first as we were infront of them. The other reviews about different treatment based on race is true. We left the store and decided to give our money to a business that will treat their customers better. I have fond memories of Plaza from art school so when I happened upon this location after coming from the hospital, I was thrilled! I was alittle disappointed in their selection of oil-based paint markers but for a small store, they crammed a ton of stuff inside. My favorite part were the small tables in front with artsy gift ideas and novelty socks/sticky notes with famous artists on them. It felt like I was back in college! I want to give a 5 for nostalgia sake but the staff didnt seem to know much about certain products and while their was a ton of stuff, they were still missing a lot.
