very clean place, very nice staff, & the chicken is fresh and seasoned to perfection š try chicka locaš
EDIT: I came here again November 22, 2022. I used to love this place! NOT ANYMORE! one old guy with grey hair came in after yelling on the phone in the parking lot. looking disheveled & upset! my father went in to order for him & my mother, while I stayed in the car with my puppy. after my father finished ordering, I came in to order what I want & other family members. the grey hair guy was rushy & so rude! sorry, I thought you guys like big orders!!! the grey hair old guy kept messing up my order, & then tried to charge me extra! when I asked to see the list of items to confirm, because once again it was a big order, he gave me a hard time! he acted like i couldn't see my order. when he finally showed me (on the cash register screen, facing the customer), it was WRONG! I asked him to fix it, he said he'll just give me cash?! what?! I'm paying card, & I didn't even swipe it yet!! sounds crooked to me!!! I walked out & will NEVER RETURN! RUDE GUY RUINED THIS PLACE FOR ME!!! if you go, check your order & receipt for rip offs!!!
EDIT AFTER OWNER REPLY; FEB. 05, 2023: no language barrier. I also speak other language. But good news for you... the employees speak English very well. I was told to still swipe my card & ignore the error on my order from the angry grey hair guy that was yelling on the phone in the parking lot. there is no language barrier with the words: "just use your card & I will give you cash." there is no language barrier with witnessing the old guy yelling on the phone outside before coming in to take my family order. do you get it or no? why not just apologize & move on? this is manipulation & gaslighting. very sad. good luck to this business & anyone that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt know how this place doesnāt have a line out the door all the time. Iāve waited to write this review for a whole year to make sure we didnāt have a fluke experience, or it wasnāt just good because it was a new place.
This is easily the best Peruvian chicken place in the DMV. My wife and I have tried probably 15+ places, and this place is the best. 1) itās always extremely clean. 2) the (assumed) owner is super nice. Itās always the same older gentlemen at the register with a goatee. 3) the food is ALWAYS fresh. Weāve came early, late, in between lunch and dinner hours, it doesnāt matter. Our fries and plantains are always piping hot, and the plantains are always cooked PERFECTLY. The chicken is always moist and tender. The chicken also tastes different and better here - it is marketed as charcoal chicken, and you can taste that. It has that āsummer bbq cooked on a charcoal Webber grillā taste, unlike some other places that taste like a gas grill.
I personally donāt care for the Peruvian style sauces, but my wife loves them. They offer the 3 selections, a yellow, orange, and green, with no spice to pretty...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe carne asada and pollo asada from here were so bland. The servers were a bit rude about me getting a knife as an utensil and refused to give more napkins. I would not come back here and would rather go to Parritaās. At least the sides were decent.
Update: I returned a few weeks ago, and gave the chicken another try. The service was better, but I found the old man to be rude. He was rude about the fact that I wanted two straws to have the tamarind drink even though he did end up giving it. Their chicken is really good however, and I enjoyed the broil on it. Iām sorry you had to question the authenticity of the review, but what happened did happen. But, I am not trying to defame your restaurant at all. Only one of the staff members was rude. All of them are nice. The taco my mom ordered was disappointing in...
