I must give context of my store experience:
I went to pick up a planter container for one of my citrus trees at the Home Depot here on Merritt Island. So I drive there and park, then I notice a yellow warning light on my dashboard. My heart sank. "What is going on with my car now?" I asked. How bad is this situation, I thought. Should have left, but I knew the only respectable decision was to say forget about it, shut the car off, and journey into the store, crudely calculating that at least I'll get what I came for just to spite my car. I walk around for what seemed like 40 days in the desert but cant find it sans the Home Depot website says they have them. Website shows that they in fact have ALOT of similar items that are absent from the shelves. So in my mind I now have lost the purpose of even driving here. My heart sank further, so far down that it was now indistinguishable from the mild antibiotic related diarrhea I had earlier this day. But suddenly in a moment of pure mental clarity, I decided to draw the line in the spilled bag of play sand next to me and exclaimed "No further!" I cant leave empty handed with only a broken car and internal panic to show for my journey. There was simply too much evidence that the object of my wants was present. I then dashed from clueless employee to clueless employee. Finally I found a competent, employed human being that led the way to accomplishing the quest I began so long ago! She acquired the necessary informations and uncovered the true resting spot of my planter. But alas! One barrier remained: height. For it was in a box at the top of the highest of shelves. At least 20, no wait, 30 feet. She used her radio to summon a true tamer of beasts: the garden department forklift operator. He then turned on the lift's engine. As the noble steed was commanded to the proper location, its metal fork of strength gifted from what could be no other than Thor himself, rose up as fast as our suspense! Then a sudden jolt forward and the box was captured! The forks then lowered in such a gentle way that a feather would have surely hit the ground prior. I walk over and thank the two knights from the House of Depot for they were the true heroes today! I triumphantly pay for my new planter with a renewed confidence and then swagger over to my car. I get in and start the ignition. An emitted anxiety inducing noise of a "ding-ding" with the same yellow symbol illuminated. Hark!; a sudden a new development!: The informational display sends me an urgent message: "Time For Oil Change Soon". It was but merely a reminder to get an oil change?! To say I had a sigh of relief would be grossly inadequate but rather it was all my breath expelling from my lungs in the smallest instant in time possible. I felt a wave of happiness wash over my being. I then drive home, finishing my quest in a brutal 1/336th of a fortnight. "I did good today," I said to myself. My emotions were managed in a stressful and grief-ridden moment. Of all the things that my past self would have been openly upset and angered about this day, I coped in the most Honourable of ways but not without the assistances of the knights of the House of Depot.

Read moreHome Depot is a hit or miss kind of store. Not many of the workers know what their department does; in plumbing maybe one or two, gardening haven't found anyone yet (that works there), electrical maybe one or two on a good day, lumber/building supply haven't found anyone, flooring very knowledgeable, paint a few not all of them. if you want advise or help from someone who knows home improvement go to Ace hardware. As far as remodeling goes I've heard horror stories about homedepot but that was over 10 years ago and I figured they've gotten better. So far NO they're still ignoring customers that have work that gets started but not completed. I had purchased a vanity through them the first came chipped, the second one the top was shattered the third one thankfully was good but I had to return the bad ones which cost me $100. because I had to hire someone to take those vanity back both times. Now I'm in the middle of having my kitchen remodeled its been a horrible ordeal. The people they refer are handyman who haven't a clue what they're doing, (I won't go into details to keep this review from becoming a novel) the cabinet installer had made quite a few mistakes, he's not someone I would hire again. I'm going to have to have someone come in and finish the insides of the cabinets because theyre crooked and have wide gaps. The refrigerator when I unwrapped it had a big dent in the front but because missed the 48 hour deadline by a couple hours I'm stuck with a dented refrigerator, to be fair the manager said he would see what he could do (update: manager said if I purchase another refrigerator then theyll take back the dented one and said they would install the new one. However the delivery guys refused to install it so I had to hire someone to install it. Darryn the guy in cabinets was great to work he designed a beautiful kitchen for me and was there for me while having it redone if only everyone worked as hard as Darryn. When the cabinets were installed and that part finished, Eileen stepped in to help out with the appliances and countertop install she's great, stays on top of everything while it's still in process. I'm hoping to have it finished by the end of this week and will update...
Read moreDelivery Service for this Home Depot is horrendous. We called Friday morning 11/17 to get the delivery time Home Depot scheduled for us. The person that answered the phone said the truck had broken down and gave us a tracking number to use regarding our delivery. The tracking information tells you how many deliveries are scheduled before yours and what delivery the service is on. So, if there are 3 deliveries prior to yours the tracking number provides this information and re confirms the time block scheduled for your delivery ( in my case 1:00 to 4:30 pm). After tracking our delivery during the day on Friday. November 17 I received a phone call at 4:40 pm informing me that the truck had broken down in the morning and the team to replace the truck didn't show up so delivery was postponed to Monday, November 20. They had to know by 10:00 or 11:00 am that delivery would not take place on Friday, 11/17 and led us to believe all day the delivery schedule was on track. Home Depot shows NO RESPECT for their customer when their delivery service FALSLEY indicates that delivery will take place KNOWING that it won't. How can you run a business that way? I cancelled the order because I had no way of knowing whether the rescheduled Monday (11/18) delivery would actually take place after the lack of transparency on the Friday 11/17.
We had been without a refrigerator for a week and with the Thanksgiving holiday approaching I decided to try to find another fridge locally. I went to Appliance Direct, got what I wanted, and got it delivered today Saturday, November 18. In addition to falsely leading me to believe the Friday 17 delivery would take place I was also told it would take 7-10 days to refund the money for a product promised and not delivered. Home Depot is not a business that you can depend on to honor their contract with their customer.
Our experience with Appliance Direct was easy and transparent and we saved $100.00 on the appliance. Do yourself a favor -don't use Home Depot. Home Depot doesn't respect...
