Family Dollar — Local services in Metropolis

Been a customer here for years. While the manager is a good lady I have always, for whatever reason, felt uncomfortable in this store. I have heard they have had lots of shoplifters, or it seems as such because the crew is almost always got hawk eyes on anyone they don't personally know, or anyone whom they don't like the looks of. I don't feel that I was ever on this list but I have been in the store shopping when other shoppers have been accused of theft and seen/heard of numerous people being reported to the local authorities based upon suspicions of such. I hadn't given it much thought until now but I suppose it has proven to me to be on many occasions a tense environment where I don't feel at ease while shopping. I would have given a higher rating though as who can blame someone for trying to prevent theft until this morning. I was shocked when my husband went in to use their facilities and immediately came back out to the vehicle. It seemed he wasn't as well recieved as I had been but apparently dubbed a "long haired freaky person", and not allowed to use the restroom. A mere two days after they escorted me back when I asked and was allowed to use their bathroom he was told that they have no public washroom and would get in trouble if they allowed use to anyone. We didn't have to be just anyone, we could have been paying customers but the dollar general is more likely to keep the items I need in...

I went in there last night and told the attendant they had a stray cat in the store. She looked at me and said, "yeah! it runs in and out when we have the door open" and walked away. I'm like, that's a stray cat! You can't just let it run in and out. You have to either call someone or keep it from coming in. What if it scratches someone? What if it starts pulling things off the shelves? What if it poops I'm the store? It's just nasty to allow a stray cat that nobody knows where it's been to run in and out. Stop in the store for a few things. I couldn't find two of them and I was assisted by an employee immediately upon asking for help. The knowledge of the store employee was excellent, the employee had no problem finding the items I had asked for. With wonderful service I was in and out in a jiffy. Employee was polite and vert respectful. Will be recommending this store as a 5 STAR BUSINESS for...
