I’m writing this review with a heavy heart because Bozkurt has been a go-to spot for my mom and me for the past 10 years. We’ve always supported this store, appreciated its unique pieces, and made it a regular stop when shopping for gifts or something special for ourselves. Unfortunately, the experiences we’ve had recently—especially today—have left us completely disheartened.
Today, we arrived at the store around 5:00 PM. The hours posted clearly say the store closes at 6:00 PM, so we assumed we had plenty of time to browse. While we were shopping, the staff closed the doors on us. No warning, no courtesy heads-up—just started shutting everything down as if customers weren’t still inside.
Even worse, as we were ready to make a purchase—a bracelet we had been considering—we kindly asked if we could buy it quickly. Instead of being helped, we were met with an abrupt, “Well, do you know what you want?” At that point, I said “never mind,” and we walked out, both shocked and upset.
This isn’t the first disappointing experience lately. On recent visits, instead of being greeted or asked if we needed help, we’ve noticed the staff just quietly following us around the store. It’s uncomfortable and makes you feel unwelcome, like you’re being watched rather than served.
As someone who has been a loyal customer for nearly a decade, this is not the level of respect or customer service we expect—or deserve. If a store says it’s open until 6, then customers who arrive at 5 should not be rushed out or treated like a burden.
It’s extremely unfortunate, but I won’t be returning after this. A decade of loyalty deserves better than being locked in, rushed out, and spoken to with attitude. If you’re going to change your closing time or treat people differently, be transparent about it. Don’t advertise one thing and do another.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because no customer—especially not a long-term one—should leave feeling this disrespected. i will not be...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. This place is an absolute joke. I walked into Bozkurt at 4:50 PM — a full hour before their supposed closing time — and was met with complete silence. Not a hello, not a smile, not a single ounce of basic human decency. Just a bunch of staff lurking around, staring us down like we were criminals.
We were literally about to spend money on a bracelet, but instead of offering help, some rude, miserable employee cuts us off with, “Do you know what you want already?” Excuse me? That’s how you speak to customers? The entitlement and attitude were unreal.
Then, at 4:55 PM, they just start closing the store without a word. Lights going off, displays being covered — as if we were a nuisance for daring to walk in. The message was clear: get out.
As we were leaving, the staff had the nerve to throw us dirty looks, like we had somehow wasted their precious time. Newsflash: you’re not doing anyone a favor by being open — you’re a business, act like it.
Bozkurt is a shining example of everything wrong with customer service. Unwelcoming, rude, and clearly don’t value customers or their own reputation. I wouldn’t take a free piece of jewelry from this place, let alone spend a dime.
Avoid at all costs. Go...
Read moreI’ve shopped here for years, even opened a wholesale account with them. I have no idea how much money I’ve spent here, but I’m sure it’s a pretty decent amount. Throughout the years I’ve had bracelets break and I never keep the beads in order to take it back to get fixed(even though they tell you if anything breaks you can take it back). Recently one of the beaded bracelets broke and I tried picking up as many of the beads as I could find and put it in a ziplock. I don’t live close to the merchandise mart so I don’t go often. I went today and took my broken bracelet and received the worst service from an older woman that was condescending and rude. I will never, ever in my life step foot in this establishment again. There are plenty of sellers online that I can purchase the beaded bracelets for. Your store is no longer worth the drive for me. Your lack of customer experience and making your customer walk away happy is...
