Consumer Beware would not allow me to give Zero Stars: On January 27th my husband and I went into Rick's Fine Jewelry in Day Heights, we wanted to have the prongs on my set just let's say freshened up from years of me hitting on everything. Sitting there Rick the owner suggested replacing the center piece we agreed and had a couple of other pieces we also wanted repaired, sitting there I stressed to him numerous times that I wanted my ring completed first so that I could get it back as soon as possible. In February called was told he was waiting on the center set to come in, middle of March I called again and asked how it was going and was told he had to order the center set, hold up you told us back in February you had ordered it so you know at this point I think I will just come and pick it up, which his reply was come pick up your f'n s##t and hung up. Furious I waited for Robert to get home and about the same time Rick called back apologetic about how he spoke to me and assured me he would get my ring done within a week. Well on May 4th I walked in and asked for my jewelry and he was none to happy and asked for one week, which I replied you have been telling me one week since January 27th and every time I have called you give me 100 excuses as to why it is not done, from covid to your eyes, your back, no help, unbelievable!! So I take my ring now torn apart and no refund of the $200 that I gave him just as a deposit of what would be owned and got in the car and called Kirk & Company took it straight to them they told me you will have it back in a week and today I picked it up and paid an additional $458 to get it put back together. I have filled a complaint through the Better Business Bureau on May 4th and so far he has not responded, I know this is partially my fault with all of the red flags I should have picked it up way before I did but unfortunately I always try to give someone the benefit of the doubt especially small businesses. Moral of my story is if you are needing jewelry Repair Avoid at all cost Rick's Fine Jewelry in Day Heights!!! After posting this I found out a friend had a similar problem with Rick, not to mention during at least 2 phone conversations he said that some unhappy customer came and picked up their jewelry., and now I completely...
Read moreI took my engagement ring there in 2015 because a prong broke off and my heart shaped diamond fell out. Rick tried to fix it but because of the way it's made, a heart, my setting wouldn't hold it. Rick designed a new ring for me with a setting that held it perfectly. He also added mine and my husband's birthstones on each side of the diamond. My husband and I hit a hard time and didn't have the money to pay. Rick said he would hold it as long as we needed him to. Everytime we saved almost all the money something would happen and we were back to trying to save again. 5 years later, yes 5, my husband talked to Rick and told him how I would sit around and cry because of not having my ring. Rick was so compassionate and understanding that he gave us a discount. We saved that amount and went and got my ring. I HIGHLY recommend going to Rick's Fine Jewelers. If you want quality work at a great price from a guy that goes above and beyond, Rick's your guy. Thanks Rick...
Read moreGreat work and a local small business.
I took a ring in to be resized (one that other jewelers said couldn't be resized because of a two piece annealed design), and Rick did a wonderful job. My ring looks like new and fits perfectly.
Rick is a solo practitioner and very much a designer/ artist. He can make anything you would want!
He loves to chat and is a great conversationalist. If you are looking for a drive through jeweler with a large showroom, try the mall.
He is by appointment only but he was very available to fit my schedule, both when dropping my ring off and picking up my "new" ring.
He does exceptional work, and his prices are very reasonable.
He is cash only so be aware. His work is worth leaving the credit...
