Yesterday, I took my friend to a barbershop because his hair had grown out and he needed a haircut. Since his English isn’t very good, I went with him to help. I found the place myself and called the barbershop to ask about the price and whether they worked by appointment. The person who answered told me the haircut was $20 and that they accepted walk-ins. My friend showed the barber a photo of the haircut he wanted and asked, in addition, for the top part of his hair to be shortened with scissors. I'm not exaggerating — the haircut took about 15 minutes and it was honestly the worst haircut I’ve ever seen. After trimming the top with clippers (not scissors as requested), the barber said it was done. The result was a complete disaster. Then he asked for $30. I told him that when I called earlier, I was informed the price was $20. He insisted the price was $30. Look, if the haircut had actually been worth $30, I would have paid it. But it wasn’t even worth $10. Naturally, we didn’t leave a tip, and the barber seemed upset by that.
