St. Stephens A.M.E. Church — Local services in Middle River

My mother and i been to that church since 2006 and will never return, heres why my grandmother passed away and we needed a couple hundred dollars for the funeral and the lady in charge named Sarah she was extremely rude to my mother and said no, my mother had to complain to the church and had other ministry's step in and help which I'm grateful that we even receieved help at all and this is not the first time we've been denied help but we are supposed to come out of our pockets to give during offerings and which thats unfair and also the new pastor they got is sneaky he fired my aunt through text out of the blue it was unprofessional "saying we are moving on to our greater" something along the line of that and the pastors wife is stuck up and unfriendly during a meet your new teacher meeting the congregation was notified that she was a certified spanish teacher she sat behind me and was talking about so i turned around and listened because i was excited about her career she gives me a nasty look and turned up her nose at me and its like okay maybe i shouldve minded my business but at the same time she didnt have to be rude and their kids are bad and does whatever...

My Daughter and I went over there on a day they was given food out . We have never went to one of these places for food our first time But she just got out of the hospital from having a colon cancer surgery . So she was in my van they ask me to write our names down and I do , But then they told me that my daughter can’t have any food just me !!!! So I said no she can have the food , let her have it , he said well u can’t have but 1 onion 🧅 1/2 of something’s Now my daughter was upset I just feel it was because they didn’t know us , because everyone else was able to have bags to fill what ever they wanted so my daughter said she will never come again for us to be treated like nothing !!! But it’s was ok to me I was only worried about her ! I’m sorry for the inconvenience but they used our names and will get credit for it but we didn’t get anything but I noticed that there cars was full of stuff and boxes of food in the back of there cars too God Bless u all...

I didnt get the welcoming experience like some others described. The service was okay. The member who directed me where to park was sort of rude. Parking was full so I had to park on the side toward the back of the church. I tried to confirm that it was okay for me to park at that location. When I asked the member, he said "that's why I moved those cones. You're here for a reason right?"

I was confused by his statement, but my son and I wanted to try the service so we went inside. Some of the ushers seemed less than pleasant. That warm feeling really wasn't there when I visited. The service was okay, but the family sort of feel I was looking for on an Easter Sunday I...
