US Storage Centers — Local services in Middleton

To start I would like to say the employee Kelley who is an extremely nice woman helped so much with everything and is the only reason why I stayed.

I had the storage unit for 3 months which started off not good, when I called to get a quote and rent a unit the gentleman on the phone lied about everything he stated “yes, we have a service elevator that’s 10ft by 15ft and your storage unit would be right out front of the elevator as soon as you step off”. To which I got there and Kelley showed me to the unit which the elevator is a standard size and the unit was on the third floor all the way in the back of the building no where near the elevator. Luckily Kelley apologized and found me another storage unit closer to the elevator which she didn’t have to do.

Couple of other things that did not impress me is the storage facility only has one form of security at the front when entering. the key pad opens the doors and then you can make it to anyones storage unit. Which also the key pad isn’t needed most of the time as you can just walk up to the doors and 9 times out of 10 they would automatically open rendering there only form of security useless.

One small thing that was so irritating was the elevator not only was small but they have the door set to close every 3 seconds! So when you are trying to pull something on and go to grab another thing just outside the door it would close on you.

Now I had auto pay set up on my account and under a credit card and all payments were made but yet I went there to get everything out of my unit today and there is a company lock on my unit. Luckily I came during store hours and Kelley yet again looked at my account and said there should not be a lock on your unit and it was a mistake and removed it. Which I get mistakes but if there is a simple mistake like that then who’s to say they wouldn’t mistakenly think my unit was terminated and they empty it. I know it’s a long shot with that but still worry some.

I hope they make changes to the storage unit and better quality for customers and give Kelley a raise. But unfortunately, at the moment, I would not recommend this...

Scamola!! They lure you in to grab you stuff until they're done making up numbers!?

Interest on late payments is %100!? I missed one month's payment, now instead of owing $150(two months storage,) they want $300!? Thats %100 interest on the late month, plus a %100 interest on the current month!? And apparently they are standing behind their decision to also have raised the Rent part of my monthly payment from $63, to $126, citing fair market value; but I never agreed to anything like that either!? Did their property value double!? I've been there 5 months, and it's already doubled!? Time for an immediate exist strategy!!

I spoke with customer service today, but have not received a call back yet. I mentioned %100 interest is certainly illegal in all 50 states! I demanded the unannounced change in monthly Rental rate be reversed, as I am not agreeing to it!! And that if we dont come to some more reasonable an exit strategy, for the end of this month; then I would go straight to Civil Court tomorrow and file a small claims case with the value of the stuff. And then file, in District Court, for an immediate break of our contract, on the grounds that this is a very simple case of racketeering and...

This place is a joke. I rented a 5x5 for 22 a month and within 5 months of renting I get a $141.00 price increase. This was not the first time. When I address this issue before about it going up by a couple of dollars the manager showed me that he would change the price back immediately and not allow anyone to gouge me. Oh yesterday I get an email from him directly saying I can pay $141 for something that's really worth only 22 and it's because I have to now incur his electrical cost. And all kinds of other crap cost. I do not suggest that anyone rent from this company because all they do is change the price every single day and that is not a joke rent from them and see if you don't end up paying for something that's not worth it. Awful place to run from an awful service to have I do not recommend this to anyone and I do a lot of reviews for a lot...
