Market Basket — Local services in Middleton

I ordered a full sheet graduation cake here and specifically informed the staff that filled out the pink order slip how I wanted the cake too look. I decided to change the pickup date due to having some extra free time on my hands only too get a completely wrong cake. The colors were the opposite of what I asked for. I kindly asked the young lady if the cake can be completely remade and she informed me that it's up to the cake decorator. Therefore, the cake decorator walked over with such a poor attitude and it was the worst customer service experience I have ever received at this Market Basket. The cake decorator gave me attitude the entire time while filling out a new pink sheet order slip. She acted as this was the biggest inconvenience to redo the cake. I informed her that as the head cake decorator she should have given me a call instead of deciding to put random colors on the cake without the customers approval.

Long story short I ended up calling back and complaining because my cake was late to the party. I spoke to one of the assistant managers Jeff in which he displayed that he really did not care about my poor experience. His excuse was well as the head decorator I would be upset as well if I had to redo a cake last minute. Jeff ended up telling me to pop back in for either a refund or gift card in which I went in the next day and nothing was communicated to other managers about the situation in which I had to speak to a different manager explain everything just to receive a gift card that should have already been left there to begin with.

Overall, I really can not believe this entire experience and everyone should work on their customer service skills. I definitely will not be ordering a cake...

I recently visited the Market Basket in Middleton, MA. This location is a masterclass in how not to run a supermarket. The aisles are perpetually congested, not with customers, but with employees who seem to think it's their personal hangout spot. Trying to navigate through the store feels like a frustrating game of dodgeball, with workers obliviously blocking the way as they chat and dawdle around instead of stocking efficiently. There is a sense of annoyance when I try to move around them to get what I need. I went to get some presliced American cheese, only to find that none was available. When I asked an employee for assistance, I was met with an eye roll that was anything but welcoming. I had to wait a ridiculous 15 minutes for these so-called employees to slice the cheese. It was like dealing with zombies who had no concept of customer service or urgency. I feel like I am taking crazy pills when I come to this place. It’s clear that management has done a poor job in training and hiring competent staff who can effectively interact with customers.To make matters worse, the produce at this location is consistently subpar. I can't count the number of times I've brought home fruits and vegetables only to find them already rotting. It's incredibly frustrating to spend money on what should be fresh produce, only to have to throw it away almost immediately.Overall, the Market Basket in Middleton is a chaotic, poorly managed store with unprofessional and unhelpful staff, and substandard produce. I ordered several Party Subs, platters of Chicken Salad & Egg Salad Finger Sandwiches and Potato Salad for my sister's Celebration of Life last month and everthing was perfect. I added a second Party Sub last minute and asked it they could make it half ham & cheese and half turkey & provolone and they had no problem accomodating me. The Party Subs are huge and come with individual containers of diced pickles, tomatoes, onions, shredded lettuce and hot peppers, which is really convenient. Market Basket's prices are the best around, not only for party platters & subs but for groceries too. The staff are all very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and they make the best subs around! This is the second time I have ordered food for a Celebration of Life and I will definately order from them again. Thank you Market...
