I typically don’t leave negative reviews, but I felt it necessary to share my experience in hopes of helping others avoid the same situation. I recently put a down deposit on a 2017 Jeep Compass that the dealership told me was ready to purchase the day I came to see it. I told them I’d be returning shortly with my father to finalize the paperwork, everything seemed straightforward.
Unfortunately, that’s where the confusion and delays began.
When we came back as planned, the vehicle was mysteriously no longer in the lot. We were told to return the following day because the manager wasn’t available, and that we’d receive a call. That call never came. We had to follow up ourselves, only to be told that the car had been sent off for a "routine service."
Over the course of two weeks, I consistently reached out for updates, and each time I was told some version of “it should be ready next week.” No clear answers. No real progress. Just vague delays and the same explanation repeated. When I asked directly if there was a specific issue with the car or if they no longer intended to sell it to me, I was met with avoidance rather than transparency.
What’s frustrating is that the vehicle was initially presented as ready for purchase, which implies it had already been serviced and cleared for sale. If that wasn’t the case, I question why they would take a deposit in the first place. I was also offered alternative vehicles, but I was only interested in the one I selected, and I don’t think it’s fair for a dealership to try to pivot me to other inventory after weeks of waiting.
To make matters worse, when I voiced my concerns, I was told, “If you’re in such a rush, we can refund your deposit.” After waiting nearly three weeks, I don’t believe asking for clarity or a timeline qualifies as being in a “rush.” At one point, a salesperson even threatened to hang up on me while I was still speaking which was unprofessional and dismissive.
This process has not only wasted a considerable amount of my time, but it’s also left me without a vehicle as I prepare to return to grad school, all because of poor communication, mismanagement, and what seems to be a lack of regard for serious buyers.
I hope this dealership takes customer communication and transparency more seriously in the future. A simple, honest update would have gone a long way.
In response to their novel below: They could’ve explained the following to me but the two salesmen’s in charge failed to do so. They do not know how to work as a team. I went in person various times and called several times. They did a better job explaining what was going on in their response down below. I as well recorded the last conversation I had with the salesman and allowed him ample time to speak and was interrupted and given the same story all over again, without an exact date or reasoning as to why my Jeep was taking 3 weeks to be given to me after putting down the $500 down deposit. They failed to mention the damage and never said the following to me. As well, like I said they were ready to turn in the car and have me sign the paper work the minute I checked out the car without my dad present. So their story does not align. The salesman with the curly hair is so bad at his job he cannot even sell a car to a customer when they are basically begging for the car. Have an amazing weekend as well! God bless...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE!! THEY TRIED TO SCAM ME Extremly shady business!! I went here to buy a Honda with my mom. They saw that we were two women and they tried to scam us bad!! The car's sale price was a bit below 16k. I told them that I wanted my payments to be below 400, and they 'made it work'. I took the car home that day. I decided to download the bank's app to take a look, and saw that I was suposed to make payments biweekly!! What dealer does that? So I call the bank to ask, and they tell me that the car was financed at almost 30k!! Thats TWICE the price that was agreed on. I filed a complaint with the bank, and went back and returned the car. When returning, I asked how they managed to do this and he showed me (on the computer) that they actually financed it at 22k? He told me that was the price after taxes. So the taxes were 6k?? And that's also not what the bank told me. This is such a shady thing to do, and definitely illegal. I also noticed that they never gave us the page of the contract that had the cars agreed sale price (which is a mistake on my end, I should have made sure that I had that page, but this was my first time buying a car so I didn't know what to expect). They very clearly tried to scal us. If I never called the bank and asked, I was going to end up paying 50k (almost 700 a month for 72 months) FOR A 2017 HONDA!!!
Other than the fact that they tried to scam me, a lot of the car's electrical components were not working. I didn't think much of it because they told me to come back and they would take a look at it. When I got home, I noticed how dirty the car was too. I literally found half eaten food below one of the seats. The steering wheel was also starting to get really sticky after driving for 30 minutes. The car was supposed to be at around either 40k or 70k mikes (I do not recall which), it definitely looked like it was over 150k miles. I do not know if they actually did it, but I think they played around with the odometer. I cannot know that for certain but how am I supposed to trust that they did not do that after they tried to scam me? Horrible bussiness. I hope they get what...
Read moreThis is by far the worst car dealership experience I have ever had. While the car buying process itself was just okay, everything that followed was absolutely horrible. I was clearly promised that I would get my registration papers in one week, but instead, I had to wait for six weeks—and only received them after repeatedly contacting the dealership myself, as they failed to keep me updated or informed. When the papers finally arrived, I took them to the DMV, only to be told that whatever documentation the dealership had provided inexplicably stated the car had been bought in Georgia (which is honestly insane). The DMV agent actually recommended I send all my documents (title, etc) back to the dealer and have them register it for me, which I did. During all this, my temporary license plate expired. I let the dealership know immediately, but was told they couldn’t issue another one and that “if you were to get a ticket, the dealership will cover the cost.” Well, I not only got a ticket, but my car was actually impounded because of the expired temp plate. When I called the dealership for help, they told me they were “not responsible” for any of it. The impound fees ended up costing me almost $800 out of my own pocket. I just want everyone to know exactly what kind of dealership this is. If you value your time, money, and...
