I saw someone post about this pet store, and it’s NOT A LIE!!! I’ve grown up around every single exotic pet store that opened in Richmond and Chesterfield since I was a child, and none of which have I experienced the total disgrace that’s Wholesale Exotic Pets!!! I had a extremely bad experience with this pet store. I heard rumors about the owner, and I just tested it out. I first went to the pet store on the Fourth of July. I attempted to buy a red tail boa from the guy on August 14th. I put $10 dollars on it just to come and find it missing on Monday, August 19th. His mother first tried to lie and state that I didn’t come on the day I said, which was false. Then she told me that the snake died, and then kicked me out because they were closed. He had absolutely no professional courtesy and poor customer service, and didn’t even care that the snake died. I was told by a volunteer that he was looking for another snake for exchange. When I asked if the snake would be free due to the one that I paid on dying in his care+being kicked out of the store for unknown reasons+being lied to about what happened to the animal, he said “why would I give you a free snake?” What a joke. I’ve had experiences with multiple pet stores around Richmond and Chesterfield, and I’ve been in all of them, and invested for over 10 years, and I’ve NEVER had this experience. He even tried to scam me and say he found some boas for me that was going to bring in the next day, but the pictures he sent me were from two separate pet stores from online, and which were located in Florida. I have screenshots of the messages+I also screenshot the pictures that were found on numerous websites. So if anyone needs proof, then I got it. I have heard that he is banned from reptile shows, and that he has multiple felonies. Most of the animals he sold were wild caught animals, and were in bad condition. I was quite shocked that a snake I paid on died in less than a week of visiting. I was never even told how the snake died.
P.S. this isn’t fake news whatsoever. I have proof that he’s a scammer. When you criticize him, he would cuss you out and call you all sorts of names. Not...
Read moreThis place is great first off. If you want something different and better taken care of then you’d get at petco I highly recommend coming here. Some of these bad reviews say stuff about how he keeps the animals, well if you’ve ever been to any other place that sells animals I’d say Brandon the owner does it the best. Yes the cages are small but that’s not their permanent home, this is a business and things come and go all the time. He treats his animals correctly wether it’s feeding , lighting , love and care etc. some people also don’t understand that he will take sick or badly treated animals and give them the necessary treatments to make them better. I’ve never felt more welcome in any store they are very nice people , Brandon is more then willing to let you hold any animal to see if you bond or if that’s what you really want to buy. It’s a 1 stop shop with this place. Animals , food , and 99% of the time cages (he makes his own and from what I’ve seen they’re very nice) if you have something you want and he doesn’t have it he will surely get it for you. Anything you can think of Brandon can do for you. He’s constantly getting new animals and has all the knowledge on what they need and what they like. Even though he doesn’t have them for very long he has a bond with everything in there. I’ve never seen him hesitant to pick any of them up and I’ve never seen the animals get upset or angry. Truly knows what he’s doing and i will always come back for pets, feeders , and to check out what’s new and hang out , would give more then 5 stars if possible! Good job Brandon...
Read moreGoing to buy a leopard gecko has been the worst experience. First, we knew nothing about geckos, so we were duped. The price was $200 for a leopard gecko. We were told she was snowbell/black night gecko, so it seemed more exotic. It turns out she is a blizzard gecko, that sells for $30. We were given large crickets for this 5 month old gecko and told to “just dump them all in her cage.” They were way too big for her. She ended up vomiting them back up. And they bit her leg. She got a blood blister from the bite that stayed for awhile. Cricket bites are known for infecting, so we got lucky there was not infection. We were sold coconut shaving substrate, which is a no-no for geckos. We found this out when we had to take her to the exotic vet, for twice the price of the lizard, for a GI bleed from ingesting the substrate. We also found out that she had Metabolic bone disease, because she needed xrays for the GI bleed. We had not had her long enough for this to be our fault. So, we are having to do multiple treatments to try to reverse this in this juvenile gecko, we had To buy a gram scale and weigh her daily, she needs twice a day treatments and needed prescription strength calcium liquid that we have to give her with a dropper twice a day and hope she licks it off the syringe. I would stay clear of this store. The vet was very surprised at our purchase and the advice...
