River City Chocolate — Restaurant in Virginia

River City Chocolate is a great local business. When going there, you are going to wonder if you are in the right place as it's nestled in a more industrial building (they used to be a production kitchen exclusively for restaurant sales instead of retail). However, keep going, and you will find some of the tastiest treats. We met Joe - the baker - who is a wonderful person that we chatted with for a while and learned about the business, her career, and the items that she makes. You can tell she is passionate about the quality and ingredients. We decided to get 4 items to split, although we could have tried everything in the case because it looked that good. We had a slice of lemon decadence cake, strawberry crunch cake (tasted exactly like the old school ice cream bars), chocolate cheesecake bar, and the maximum cookie sandwich. All items are large portions enough to share between 2 people, and all are just the right balance and not sickeningly sweet. I usually am not a big fan of cake, but I loved both slices we got (please excuse the hole in the pink section of the strawberry one in my picture as I had a birthday candle in there - Joe would never sell anything with holes in it!). I recently worked with River City Chocolate to create a dessert option for a work event. Ed Conroy was a dream to work with. From tastings, to creating customized lettering to represent the event, to regular check-ins to make sure all the details were perfect- it was more (and better) than I expected going in. There were constant questions from guests asking where the treats came from and we were more than happy to tell everyone "River City Chocolate, right here in Chesterfield!" I was highly recommended this place in a local delivery and takeout group on FB. It did not disappoint! The owner Ed was very informative and you can tell it is his passion. He sold me on the phone with his customer service it was astounding and personable... the way he described the desserts especially my peanut butter craving I was having...the Peanut Butter Explosion hit the spot!! My whole family enjoyed the Brookie-double fudge brownie and cookie. Will definitely come back in the future for all my sweet...
