My wife and I had the pleasure to wander into Midway Makers Market today. The first thing we noticed when we entered the premises was the wonderful aroma emanating from one of the wide variety of unique candles on display. The welcoming atmosphere soon absorbed our interest in the wide variety of high quality, unique goods available in the shop. The friendly proprietor quickly filled us in on the innovative business model that has Midway Makers providing locally designed and produced by local craftsmen. That goes a long was in explaining the variety and quality. Also, a significant percentage of the products are highly localized to Midway/Versailles/Woodford County/Horse country. After overcoming our initial amazement, we got down to some serious shopping, finding three different items for purchase. We frankly stopped there so we would have an early excuse to come back and visit again. Besides the unique products, a number of items can be personalized as well. We left feeling that we had discovered a gem in our own backyard and will be returning soon to browse...
