This is a cool old building! The look and atmosphere is what drew us in for lunch on Saturday, Sept. 25. We weren't thrilled with the corner seating they put us in but we made it work. We ordered our food. I ordered the Cod Fish Sandwich with fries and my husband ordered a bunless burger and potato salad. My fish sandwich w/the housmade tarter sauce was tasty however, I was shocked at how small of a piece of fish I received. It literally should have been half a sandwich. The fries were good. My husband's burger (ordered medium) looked really good. He said it tasted ok but couldn't finish it because it was cool and extremely rare. The potato salad was pretty flavorless. For a $30+ dollar lunch, we left hungry and disappointed. We would have told our server but we never saw her until we were ready to leave.

Waited for more than 40 minutes at 1:30 PM on a Saturday for a patio table. Meanwhile, 4 available unbussed tables on the patio for the entire waiting period, and a 5th table for the last 30 minutes. Multiple employees made multiple (more than 20) empty-handed trips past the tables without bussing (even including the hostess who came out to partially bus a table and stopped to chat with a seated table about their dog instead of using this time to clear table for waiting patrons). Let me say, I am patient and I understand when businesses are busy. However, this was not such an instance. This was a prime example of inefficiency and dawdling of employees.

Fantastic pub in Midway, KY. Excellent pub food at reasonable prices in a charming small town that has railroad track down the middle main street. It looks like a movie set, but it is real. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff are great. There are several local beers on tap that are very appetizing. They have a fascinating glass chiller gadget at the bar that can freeze the top of your beer glass in about 8 seconds. The brussel sprout side dish is delicious. The outside patio in front of the pub is sufficiently secluded from the sidewalk to make you feel like you are in a private dining area. Also, there is good WiFi here.

I ride with a a Veteran's Club and we had an absolutely horrendous experience at this restaurant. We made reservations for this past Sunday several weeks ago and showed up at the slotted time. We weren't dressed ratty or inappropriately, and we were incredibly polite. It was a large group of around 15, so we understood being seated in the back area despite it not being very busy. We sat and waited for around 35-40 minutes before anybody even came to get our drink orders. We waited around half an hour for the drinks to even come. In this time we watched several people come in, get their food, eat, and leave. We politely told our waiter twice "just wanted to make sure you didn't forget about our drinks". He came back to the back area with our drinks and "accidentally" spilled water on one member, then immediately turned and poured nearly an entire glass of sweat tea on another. While I cannot prove it believe me when I say: He did it on purpose. The member who had the sweet tea poured on him was obviously upset and simply requested a towel, and the waiter never brought one and had a grin on his face the entire time. We ordered our food shortly after and waited about an hour for that. We spoke to the manager about what had happened and he was very courteous about it and said the restaurant doesn't normally treat bikers that way. Not five minutes later the server came back in, reached across the table, and shoulder checked the man he had just covered in sweet tea hard enough it jostled the table. Once again, he claimed with a smile it was an accident. The manager comped us his meal as an apology and we were very polite through the entire incident. Despite what they said: They sat us in the back and were giving us awful service hoping we'd leave because it was a Sunday brunch after church crowd and they didn't want us in there. How do I know this you ask? Well, turns out an employee of the restaurant told someone a member knows about a group of veteran bikers at a restaurant in Midway who they had tried to get to leave and they simply wouldn't so they decided to mess with them. Our whole experience was nearly three hours of them messing with us and ignoring us.

I will never set foot in this establishment again. They are disrespectful and rude which is bad enough. But to be disrespectful and rude to veterans who are out riding bikes together and enjoying the weather and being polite as can be is downright disgusting. They should be ashamed...

I try to not put much emotion in my reviews. Here are the facts.

  1. On a non-busy Saturday night, we were seated at Grey Goose in Midway. I had my wife and 2 kids. We were with my sister and her husband.
  2. We ordered drinks that came out in a timely fashion and pre-ordered the chicken finger and fry appetizer for our kids to share. Those came out in a timely manner as well.
  3. We ordered the fried broccoli that came out quickly and was very tasty.
  4. My wife ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. I ordered the ribeye medium rare. My sister got a slice of cheese cake. My brother in law ordered 6 buffalo wings.
  5. An hour later, we still didn't have our food. People that were seated near us were seated after us, ordered, received a pizza, ate it, and left and we still didn't have any food.
  6. After an hour, my brother in law's wings came. They were cold in the middle. My steak came. It was well done rather than medium rare (picture included). My sister's cheese cake came and it was good.
  7. 10 minutes later, my wife's grilled chicken sandwich came. It was good.
  8. We notified the manager about the situation. There really wasn't much they could do. We have 2 kids who had already eaten. They were ready to go. They said they took the steak off the ticket and discounted our bills by 15%.
  9. We had separate checks. While paying, the server switched the credit cards and I ended up getting charged for my sister and brother in law's bill which, lacking the discount, was higher than our bill. Honestly, at that point, $5-$10 isn't going to move my needle so we just paid and left. I did still leave the waitress a $10 tip on a $38 bill.

We have had enough people rave about this place that we will probably try it again. Restaurants can't get everything right all the time, but there seemed to be a lack of follow through on this particular visit. The above statements are just the facts regarding our visit on 2/7/15. Do with this...

We sat at grey goose for OVER 2 hours. We had to ask over and over to even get our first drinks. Our first waitress disappeared with no words then the second one came up (30 minutes later) to REDO our drink orders and appetizer. The place is EMPTY. We have to ask two more times for our stuff. THEN... We sit for another 1.5 hours and ask why we don't have food yet (as they start closing duties and obviously staring wondering why we aren't gone) and we find out our food wasn't put in until 6 minutes prior. We are told it will be another 15-20 minutes (we have people in our group who have to drive OVER an hour home). Instead of telling us they forgot to put in our orders and offering an appetizer or something they keep lying and saying "oh we're just so backed up" ... in an empty restaurant!!! WHY LIE? We say we will pay for what we have gotten and just leave. We got nothing in return. We got no assistance from the "manager". AT ALL. He told us we could pay out our checks and leave. I was told it was $6 so I lay down the $6 cash for my beer and he says "actually it's $6.89." ARE YOU KIDDING? Wow. Can't comp the 89 cents buddy? Didn't waste an ENTIRE night here or anything. What a JOKE! No one in this group will EVER be back and we recommend and come to this restaurant every time we have a get together. If I could put a negative rating right...
