📍Not just one of Kentucky’s best, it’s a destination worth the drive. Customers rave about their crab cake appetizer and famous house fries. Heirloom turns every plate into a moment. 🙌 #heirloommidway #restaurant #restaurantreview #fyp #kentuckyfood #foodreview #fypシ

While in the Frankfort area, I checked on-line for some dining choices. It became apparent that Heirloom restaurant in the nearby town of Midway was one of the best restaurants in the entire area. It is an upscale restaurant in the most modest of places. They have two seatings: one for lunch and one for dinner. We made a reservation for a dinner seating and were glad we did. For a weekday evening in early November, the restaurant had a good size crowd. Our waiter was polite, attentive and knowledgeable. Our basket of bread included artisan breads and baguettes; it was served with a spread consisting of bourbon, spicy mustard, brown sugar and molasses and was very good. For a starter, we split a Caesar salad. It was very good but be forewarned, it does contain anchovies. For the Share/Indulge course, we had the chicken livers. They were breaded and deep fried and were served with ricotta ravioli, crème fraîche, arugula and parmesan. The livers were very good, but the crème fraîche was to die for. For our entrées, I had the griddled scallops and my wife had the New Zealand lamb rack. The scallops came with garlic sausage, coconut, lychee, tamarind and basil. The lamb rack came with a pumpkin puree, swiss chard and red wine braised onions. Both my wife and I were absolutely delighted with our choices – they were flavorful and unique. We can’t say enough good things about Heirloom. It is truly a gem in the small town of Midway. During racing season, it is frequented with people from as far away as Lexington and Louisville. If you have the opportunity to enjoy a meal at Heirloom, don’t pass it up!

Today my Father and I drove from Lexington to try Heirloom for the first time. It was suggested to us by a friend. I can’t say enough about our waitress. Her name is Gretchen and she was so polite and welcoming. There’s just something about her that makes you feel safe and nurtured/cared for. The food was excellent. I had the Deviled Eggs followed by The Mary Burger add bacon. My Father had the Soup De Jour….(dumb & dumber lol) [broccoli cheddar] which was followed up with Fish and Chips. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. I’d like to try the Bee Sting next time. I noticed that online the toppings include bee pollen yet on the in-house menu, bee pollen is not included under the Bee Sting Flatbread toppings. I was going to ask if it had changed but I forgot to. The atmosphere was great. Settled on a tiny quaint central Kentucky Main Street that includes a Drugstore Soda Fountain a few doors down @ Railroad Drug Store. If you are a history buff, the pharmacy has a script journal from 1885 on display that was dug out of an old house. It’s worth the look. I’ll include a picture from the restaurant and the book. Thank you Heirloom & Gretchen for such a wonderful Friday lunch. We had a pleasant time and plan on returning soon. Low key, our experience had my Father talking about looking for property in Midland he loved your all’s restaurant and Main Street so much.

Deliciously Delightful in every regard! Beautifully appointed interior creates a wonderfully stylish and welcoming setting for an expertly prepared dining experience. As we pondered the sidewalk sandwich board menu we were greeted at the entrance by a Henry, a distinguished gentleman, ,(whom I later learned is related to owner) enjoying a plate of buttermilk fried chicken. Instantly I knew exactly what I was ordering. Once seated, our server, Tyler, greeted us in true southern gentlemanly charm, placing lunch ,& drink menus on the table. Drink selections included an extensive list of wine, beer and cocktails. Our selections included dressed eggs, buttermilk fried chicken, moist and juicy chicken breast atop homemade creamy mashed potatoes smothered in white gravy with a sprinkling of arugula was an absolute delight! The angus ground beef hamburger with melted blue cheese on freshly baked bun was equally delightful. Pistachio almond ice cream provided the perfect finish. Each dish served and beautifully presented on China. Linens and silverware to include ice tea spoons made the experience even more impressive. Looking forward to returning, will definitely request to be seated in Tyler's section as he provided us exemplary service. Prices are extremely affordable for the quality of food/drink, ambiance, service and overall...
