I received services at this salon on 6 occasions because I met a nail tech at another salon and she transferred to Herbal Nail and Spa in the spring of 2021, so I followed her there.
It is a very different vibe because they don't take appointments. Because she works quickly and efficiently, the wait for her hasn't been excessively long. Her work has been great , she has always been professional, clean and pleasant!
Around thanksgiving, I had a different tech give me a full set with dipping powder because the one I knew was gone for the day. That set turned out well, and i was very satisfied. I went back to see the same nail tech tonight for the same service. When I walked in and requested to soak off the old dip powder, the receptionist with the botched hair color told me I don't know what I have on my nails, and the nail tech will tell me what needs to be done.
I tried to inform her several times that I knew what I had previously purchased and knew what I wanted. I informed her that I have been using dip powder for more than a year. When Thu Ha Thi Nguyen started to file and soak my nails, I specifically requested a dip powder manicure.
Despite my repeated requests, she decided to use acrylic liquid and powder, she did not use tips, but rather used forms around my natural nails. None if this was what I wanted.and she ended up drilling my nails away to wisps during clean up. For all that, she could have put on the tips I requested.
There is nothing worse than requesting a service and having argumentative people decide to give you what they are choosing to sell I have never not tipped for service, in 25 years, until today. The irony is the lady sitting next to me getting her acrylic manicure whispered to me that she was also disappointed with her service and the outcome. I replied, it's worse that we will pay so they don't assume we intended to skip out on the bill.
When she replied she's been a customer for many years, I decided i will not gibe them another chance to have me pay for something other than what I asked for. There are better salons than this one and they take pride in providing amazing customer satisfaction! Disrespecting customers in Vietnamese is not an experience I intend to pay for ever again.
Herbal Nails & Spa would be wise to remember great customer service is the best compliment to ensure...
Read moreAfter a long week of moving and packing I decided to treat myself and get my nails revamped. This was Friday, September 2, 2022 and my nail technician was Terry/ Terri (third chair on the left when you walk in). My natural nails had some (just a little) length to work with and I decided to go for a medium, acrylic set, with abstract designs. Fancy- I know☺️ To my dismay things took a turn on day 3. As I went to pick up a notebook I noticed one of the nails lifting on the side. My first thought was there’s no way and $85 plus a $14 tip, that my nails would be lifting so fast. My second thought was to run and quickly get it fixed. Due to my busy schedule (school drop offs and working from home) I decided to stop in tomorrow. No biggie, right? Boy was I wrong. I am now writing this on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 3:30 in the morning because as I went to turn on the bathroom light ANOTHER nail went home to see its glory. The nail popped off so easily I literally thought a bug had jumped on me.🫣😳🥴 Good thing for bright nightlights… FIVE days later, two nails have now popped off. If you’ve ever had nails fall off then you can tell from the pictures that I got what I paid for minus the mishaps. I’m super upset. I’m 35 walking around looking like a child.🤦🏽♀️ I’m going to the shop tomorrow to see if they can just remove the rest of the nails. If this is what day 4/5 looks like thennnnn a refill/fill-in must be mortifying. This is ridiculous.
Update Sept 7th, 2022: I decided to go against my better judgment and get the nails repaired. The last uploaded photo shows the VERY POOR job which left my cuticle flooded with glue and no cuticle care. On top of it all they charged me $15 to repair the two nails that broke after a couple days?! In all my life I have never ever not tipped but this, THIS was a first and a last....
Read moreI went to this salon after reading the reviews on Google expecting quality service. I was HIGHLY disappointed. I asked for a new full-set and the nail technician attempted to rip my old full set off with a nail tip instead of soaking them. I told the technician that what she was doing (placing the plastic tip underneath my tip between the tip and the nail and pulling) was painful and instead of soaking them she continued to rip my nail off! I had to ask her THREE times to stop, while pulling my hand away in pain before she listened. I asked her nicely each time if she could soak them and she blatantly ignored my request! This was completely unprofessional. She then had the audacity to tell me "I know you're scared" NO! I was not scared I was in pain. It seems like this place takes advantage of people and instead of soaking them off they would rather cut corners to save money on products. On top of this, it is very clear that this place does not follow any type of cleaning protocols for COVID. Staff wear masks (some over their noses others under their noses) and they have plexi glass but there are no steps being taken to keep tools sanitized. The next nail technician I had (they switched after I demanded the soak off) came to me after my nails were done soaking and asked me to switch tables. Her work area was filthy with dusty residue from the previous customer all over her work station. She continued to pull tools out of her drawer to use on my fingers instead of using new sanitized tools. I haven't experienced a place this unprofessional ever. Will not...
