Windsor Inn Crab House — Restaurant in Milford Mill

I’ve lived in Baltimore for 10+ years and I’ve always enjoyed the food at the Windsor. 2/28/2021, I placed an order for food at the Windsor through Uber eats. The driver calls me 20 minutes before they were supposed to arrive with my order, saying that the Windsor said someone came and took my food 5 minutes before the Uber eats driver got there. At this point I’m confused. She and I (the Uber eats driver) go back and forth for a minute before I hear someone in the background say that it was another Uber eats driver and he took 2 orders including mine. I knew instantly this was a lie because once an order is assigned to that driver, no one else can take it.

I called the restaurant to complain and do you know they put me on hold and kept me on hold? I think it’s insane that businesses that flourish think it’s ok to treat patrons a certain way. My order was $80. The fact that they didn’t think that my concern was valid enough for them to hear let’s me know that this is not a business worth my time or my money anymore in the future. Is the food good? Yes. Are the drinks strong? Yes, but they aren’t always good. Either way, they’re reputable. This situation left a very bitter taste in my mouth and it should give anyone reading this review an idea of what type of business they’re running and the value that they see in the people who spend their hard earned money there. People who are also trying to continue to support them in the midst of a pandemic.

I frequent here for their crab cakes which are good, but their steamed crabs have gone down. They have been overcooked, mushy, smaller than promoted and sometimes bad smelling. The last batch my husband and I ordered XL crabs. When we arrive to pick them up they let us know they only had large crabs. We took them anyway. Once we got home 2 of the crabs smelled bad and were mushy. The rest of the crabs were dried out and very light feeling. They still charged us for the XL originally ordered. I called to complain and they were very unprofessional. They told me I could not get a refund, which was fine because that isn't what I wanted. We wanted some type of resolution such as a new batch or half a dozen or something. They kept saying "We apologize and next time will make sure they are cooked correctly", but I would have to pay. I asked for the manager's name and the Indian lady who claimed to be the manager said her name was Keisha, but wouldn't give me her last name. They were not accommodating, rude, dismissive, kept putting me on hold and hanging up. I will no longer patronize them and tell my friends the same. I prefer Cityview for food and drinks on Security Blvd and for good crabs in the area go to Reter's on Reisterstown Rd. Their crabs are bigger, better priced and you can order from 1 crab to a bushel. It's a shame to see a neighborhood establishment go down in quality, but this isn't my first unsatisfactory experience with their crabs and from what I see neither is...

I enjoy The Windsor Inn with my family...but!! The change was disturbing, took away the beautiful windows in the dining room. Which you could see the whole entire bar and the flat screen TVs. Which was pleasant it's closed in and congested it messes up the atmosphere they should put the windows back. The flat screen TVs not working in the dining area so we couldn't enjoy the game also some type of entertainment. They need more help when you know a football game is scheduled... you know it's going to be packed and people coming in from church would like to sit down and have a great meal and a nice cocktails... which the drinks were water down I didn't even get a buzz off of some Chardonnay? Or the Long Island Iced Tea where's the liquor? Whoever is designing the new facelift it's not working you need to put it back the way it was much more comfortable and pleasant now it's like you're pinned in in a little box where there's no room to move. It looks cheap! Sunday November 4th, 2018. It was crowded it took a while before we received our food thank heavens for the salad bar which is delicious...we were hungry! It was very congested and trying to get around other customers who are doing the same thing trying to go the long way to the salad bar when you're located in the dining second section where they move the booths close to windows facing the trees.
