ALO — Local services in Millburn

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my visit to your store today. Unfortunately, my experience was completely unacceptable.

The young greeter at the entrance was very rude, and the size checker/stock associate was equally unhelpful, dismissive, and stand-offish. Several employees ignored me entirely until they finished their personal conversation, which was both unprofessional and disrespectful.

To make matters worse, the clothing I was handed had visible runs in the fabric. When I asked the stock associate to check again, he rolled his eyes and told me there were no more available. This is not the level of service I expect from Alo, especially as someone who has shopped at this location at least ten times before without issue.

The only positive aspect of my visit was the young lady at the register, who was pleasant and professional.

I am extremely disappointed by the overall lack of courtesy and attention today and hope that you address these concerns promptly so no other customers have this type...

The store layout is nice and they had a jacket I was looking for, however, the customer service was awful. I was not greeted when I walked in and when I was browsing through some clothing, I was asked if I needed help. When I responded, the sales associate walked away as if I had already found what I needed. When I went to the register, another associate saw me and instead of acknowledging my existence, asked for another associate to ring me up. She playfully told him no and turned around to ring me up. She asked if I had shopped there before and I said no. I don’t know what was the point of asking me this because she did not say anything after that. After I paid, she placed the jacket in a bag, turned around back to her work and said take care with her back still facing me. You would think they were doing me a favor by being there, unbelievable. The Alo of Short Hills is an incredibly chic and welcoming space. This was the only store I stopped by where I was greeted immediately upon entry. Organized by color, the seamless flow and modern, minimalistic character of the store is like none other that I know of. I was routinely checked on, which I greatly appreciated since I needed different sizes/colors that were in the back stockroom. Having just come from the Lululemon, where I was not checked on once, this was a refreshing shopping experience and a key example of how retail should be. The fitting rooms are incredibly spacious and quite nice in comparison to other stores in the mall. In all honesty, I had a much better time here than I did at the Garden State Plaza location.
