This is a review of the scheduled route truck visit. I've been getting the texts about the truck being in my area every week or so since I signed up for the truck at the beginning of the summer, but I was never available, or we missed the window to sign up, or we had just had ice cream elsewhere. Finally last week the timing worked perfectly--the truck would visit our house btw 8-9pm. That's after dinner for me and my husband, so perfect.

We got the text as expected when the truck was minutes away, but immediately after that we got a text that they were somehow out of bananas and wanted us to order something different. This was disappointing because part of the experience is that you choose your desserts on the app or website after your visit is confirmed and pay online, so all you do is show up at the truck and pick up your order--no deciding or paying at the truck, so it's fast. I asked them if we could provide a banana so my husband could get the sundae he ordered, and they said yes, and that they were already there. So we ran out with a banana, and waited just a few moments while they used it to make his sundae. Fine, but so weird that they wouldn't have enough bananas when we ordered in advance, and they wouldn't tell us until they were at our house.

The truck itself is cool, bright pink with light up panels. The two people working the truck barely spoke to us, though I had been expecting a bit of a welcome or something, and there was no music but that makes sense since it was almost 9pm (or if it was on it was so nondescript I didn't notice it). The ice cream is all soft serve, only vanilla or chocolate or swirl, but the quality is good. The toppings are what drew me in, great choices, but the sundae was mostly ice cream with a little sprinkle of toppings. Kind of a bummer--if your ice cream is basic, you need more than a dribble of sauce on the inside of the cup to add interest..

The novelty of the truck is not enough to overcome the need to schedule quickly or the window closes (which happened to me twice before I snagged a convenient timeslot) and the basic ice cream offerings and unthrilling sundae building. I think this is mainly geared toward kids or toward those who hire the truck as part of a larger event, not someone who wants excellent ice cream. As a standalone ice cream truck visit, I don't think it's interesting enough to justify all the preparatory steps that should build excitement, but instead felt...

I love Scream Truck and finally had the chance to try it recently!!! I was never too crazy about the regular ice scream trucks. They just seem too run down and always some weird looking guy behind the wheel smelling like cigarettes selling ice cream, ewww. First time I saw the Scream Truck was when my neighbor placed and order and I heard the music outside, so I came out and then I asked her how to order from them. Signed up for their text alerts and literally a week later they were in my neighborhood so we placed an order. The only small complaint I have is that their Menu was super limited. None of the "Build Your Own" ice cream options were available and several Sundae's as well. Not sure why that was. The pricing didn't seem any more expensive than any other walk in place. I do love that they tell you when they are coming. You have the option to pick if you want your ice cream brought to your door, or you walk up to the truck. I also loved both people who served us. They wore a custom made Scream Truck hoodie. So, it was definitely a super cool experience. And love how they have the cool music too. And last but not least, everything we ordered was delicious. A++++++ I got a Cookies 'n Cream shake and the rest of my family ice creams in a cone. We all loved it. Will be ordering from them again. But please don't have...

I love the concept, and would probably given a 4 star because I've ordered before and the people I got the first time i ordered were nice. This time bot so much I understand that the policy is to order ahead which I have done when I ordered previously. However today I ordered because I had family over from out of state and wanted to treat my nieces to ice cream before they head back home. I ordered 5 thing and 2 pup cups, but when they got to my home my autistic niece changed her mind and decided she wanted something as well. I asked if it was possible for me to please pay them cash or order online again the additional treat while they made the others and they said no. I asked two more times explaining my niece is special needs but they just said no and walked away.

I understand policy but I also think they could have done this for me as a customer. It's ice cream, and I wasn't asking for anything free or anything big and it's not like the service brings the items ready. They are made while you wait so why not be able to help someone who is already a customer and keep.them.as a customer....

Amazing concept and the ice cream is awesome. Love that this is a true NJ story that is growing into a nationwide one. Their software is what the Wonder truck wanted to deliver. Their routes are planned out so there isn’t wasted time or gas. Looking forward to trying the pizza truck soon.

As we live at the end of a block, many trucks make u turns on our and our neighbor's driveway which resulted in damaging the driveways rather significantly as our driveways are not built to handle heavy trucks. Also, there is a u turn area 20 ft away and most trucks use that area after numerous complaints. In addition, we put up signs (TWO) indicating no u turns on private driveways yet the Scream Truck driver blatantly ignored both signs and proceeded to use both of our driveways to make a u turn while I was standing on the driveway washing my car. I ran to tell the driver not to do so and started taking pictures / videos, just in case. To make the matter even worse, the truck back into the no u turn sign, bending and slight damaging the surface. Since this business is oriented towards local neighborhoods, the company needs to be "careful, considerate" about private properties around the neighborhood. Extremely disappointed and glad my kid has grown up, hence we don't need services from these guys.
