My wife and I worked with Emely Ortiz and she was absolutely fantastic to work with! I work in Sales personally, so I have a very high expectation of other sales people.
Emely had terrific technical expertise in her field, super nice, very engaging and enthusiastic about her job and it's clear she enjoys helping people get nice jewelry. What I was especially impressed with and thankful for, was how non-pushy and patient she was - she made it clear that customer service was her main concern, and that she was not relying on commission for a sale if we bought or not.
My wife used to be a big shopper at David Yurman in Short Hills, but the salespeople there were AWFUL, repeatedly caught them in lies to us trying to make a sale - and we swore off of David Yurman for life because of it. Don't buy from David Yurman in Short Hills - just buy online. On the flip side, you should absolutely BUY from Blue Nile Short Hills! Especially since there are only a few Blue Nile stores Nationally, one happens to be near us here in Jersey. They have a great return policy too, which ultimately made me comfortable in the initial purchase in case it didn't suit our needs.
Emely Ortiz represented Blue Nile like a consummate professional, and from one salesperson to another I can honestly say: you're one of the best in Retail I've ever met! I believe she is a manager or assistant manager of that location...but think she deserves a promotion! 5 stars and...
Read morePart 2. After receiving a response from 'the owner' post our review (see below Part 1.), we repeatedly called in vain the cust reps we have corresponded so far by email - there is no phone anywhere for the showroom. Nobody reached out after our messages - we have phone history to prove. Look at all complaints, they get the same response to call the showroom, but no phone is given. We paid the charge for repair, proof they do not offer any warranty - STILL WAITING TO GET THE DIAMOND STUDS BACK. Part 1. Absolutely unsatisfactory experience! We bought for our daughter as a graduation gift a pair of diamond studs. One of the selling points was the "lifetime warranty". These were not bought to be everyday jewelry. So a third attempt of using them and the post detached from the diamond's setting, see attached photos (luckily this happened at home, think what would be on the road, in a cab, etc...). We went back to the store, the pair was sent to the manufacturer who claims the studs were overused. Again, a third attempt of wearing a pair of diamond studs - "a diamond is forever, unless you fall for Bluenile's lifetime warranty scam - it covers cleaning!". So we have to pay for the repair on a piece of jewelry that should not detach in...
Read moreMy husband purchased my engagement ring through the blue nile website so we thought it would be best to pick out our wedding rings from them as well. During our appointment the staff member was not as helpful as I would have hoped. I would mention that the setting seemed different than what I had on my engagement ring, while she would just insist that the diamonds were the same shape. I felt like there was a big lack of explanation and effort to understand what I was looking for in a wedding ring. The biggest issue, and the reason I decided to write a review, is that my husband was in between ring sizes and the staff member insisted that he should pick the smaller one. Now that he has been wearing it daily, it's clear that it is too tight. We reached out to customer service as we were told in store that resizes were included with the warranty. As it turns out, 5mm rings are not included in the warranty, and getting the ring resized by a different jeweler would break warranty all together. This information should have been made clear during our consultation and prior to our purchase of this...
