Awful experience with Tamar.
Iāve been shopping at David Yurman for ages and have always had a great experience. Today I stopped in to have my jewelry cleaned and to look at a bracelet to purchase. The store was very busy so we had to wait, which was no problem. A gentleman walked in way after us and was immediately helped in front of us. When it was out turn, Tamar was our sales associate and was rude from the get go. My girlfriend tried on a bracelet and it got caught on one of her other bracelets she was wearing and Tamar got annoyed that my girlfriend ādidnāt knowā how to take it off and went to snatch it off my girlfriends wrist. We then decided we didnāt like the silver and opted for the gold version instead. My girlfriend loved the gold and expressed interest in buying the $2,700 bracelet but didnāt solely because she didnāt want to give Tamar the commission due to her poor attitude. Everything felt like we were inconveniencing her. Itās not what you do, itās how you do it and in luxury sales thatās everything.
When it came time to have my jewelry cleaned she said it would take 24 hours to do. Iāve had my jewelry cleaned here numerous times and Iāve never received that response. Since I was tired of dealing with the attitude and lack of effort I simply said okay and left. However, I shortly stopped back in to talk to the other sales associate when there were currently no customers in the store to share my experience with Tamar. After I left I received a call from Tamar saying my jewelry would be ready in 20 minutes. When I came to pick it up the black line in the cable was completely gone on one of my bracelets, but still in tact on my other two bracelets and ring. When I pointed this defect out, Tamar gave me every excuse in the book. Bottom line is the black line in the cable is part of the David Yurman design and it was there when I dropped off my bracelet and gone when I picked it up. After going back and forth with Tamar on this she finally said it can be refurbished. This is going to take 8-12 weeks but I was left with no other choice. Not only that, but the bracelet was still dirty which Tamar agreed on showing her complete lack of effort. She asked why I was unhappy with her customer service and when I tried to explain I was met with excuses before I could even finish my sentence. I said I do not wish to go into this any further because everything I was saying was not being received and I asked to have someone else assist me to which Tamar said no.
See real years ago I had a different ring cleaned that was several years old at the David Yurman location in SoHo and the black came off. The sales rep immediately recognized this defect they caused and gave me a new ring...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePurchased a beautiful bracelet for my wife online. We went yesterday to pick it up. I didn't realize the store closed at 7 pm just as we arrived at literally 7:04 . A dark haired young gentleman was just closing the door when I said we were just here to pick up a purchased gift. He said sorry we were closed and locked the door. There was a second light haired young man working as well but behind the counter who was just shaking his head with a smirk on his face saying "NO we are closed." I asked for the manager as he was holding the door closed. The gentleman at the door called out to the manager who then appeared. I stressed to her we rushed over from 20 minutes away and thought they were open till 8 pm like the mall and apologized. I told her it was a gift and was paid for already. She moved the door open and invited my wife and I inside. She asked for my name and ID and retrieved the bracelet. I was so grateful for her kindness and wonderful customer service. She even engaged us in a conversation while the gift was being boxed. I would like to thank Laura P. the manager in Short Hills for her consideration and pleasant attitude. You are a true asset to the company. My wife and I are both business owners for over 35 years! That is how you handle customer service. Thank you and Best Regards....

The blue version of the pink one I had already on my wrist. During the check out time- her system was down. She asked if weād shopped there before⦠yes, as shown by the bracelets currently on my wrist. Because the system was down they had to call in the credit card. Seemed very scammy and weird. It took forever for her to package the bracelet. She told us that weād get an emailed receipt. Never received the receipt via email. This was just the opposite of a good/semi-luxury experience. They sell David Yurman in the Neiman Marcus and the Bloomingdaleās. Go there or just order online. Save yourself the hassle of dealing with them in person.
We worked with a different than I normally do. Thereās a lady that works there that is amazing and I had a great time shopping with her for a birthday gift. Maybe if weāve had a different salesperson sheād be better but the lady we had this time was just not good. They definitely need to do better especially when you can buy the same things in two other...
