I’ve been collecting videotapes for nearly two decades. I wanted to watch movies (mainly Disney) using prints from the 1980s and 1990s before remastered to DVD. But one day, my JVC Super VCR would not respond to my remote. I wanted to find someone that can repair/refurbish my VCR. After countless hours of research, I turned to this shop in Pittsburgh (Jack’s Videos). I told Jack the story about my VCR (my remote would not respond to the sensor). So I dropped off the VCR. A week later, he told me it just needed a new remote. Another weeks later, he told me it the sensor on the front panel is bad. Jack then offered me a Panasonic VCR (Hi-Fi Stereo sound) and gave me the JVC back. I tested both VCRs. The Panasonic worked but when I tested the JVC with the remote….I was going “Smile, you’re on candid camera!” The VCR worked with the remote! I was shocked!

I’ll keep the Panasonic as a spare one. If you are looking to repair or refurbish your VCRs (even DVD/VCR combos) at a reasonable price,...

I created a yelp account solely to give this jip-joint a poor review. I’ve worked at several video stores and never thought I would have a bad thing to say about a video rental store still operating in 2020, but this is easily the very worst store I’ve ever seen. The prices are unbelievably high. Offered me one price for my trade-in with my merchandise in his hand, then when he rings it up he tried to give me two dollars less. Not to mention they tried to charge me fifty bucks for a used copy of nba 2k16 for ps4 that I’ve since picked up for $2.99 from GameStop. Go to The Exchange instead, you might actually find something worth your visit. I’m only giving one star bc zero stars...

Don’t shop here. This store is a joke that’s far from funny. I’ve been a customer of over a dozen video stores since the 90s and don’t have a bad thing to say about any of them except this one. There is NOTHING redeemable about this place. The worst prices you will find anywhere, poor selection, & an unhelpful staff combine for the worst video store experience I could have never expected. Complete disappointment & waste of space. Go ANYWHERE else. Beyond shady. I’m baffled this place is still in business or even existed to begin with. Not even as a last resort. And as for trade-ins, I would literally burn my merchandise before selling...
