My boyfriend and I just moved here from California and we were looking for a new gym. We wanted to try the 7 day free pass before committing to any gym. I’m used to a much, much larger gym, but I was willing to give a smaller gym a try. However, I was unable to really see how I would fit in to this gym given that on the third day my boyfriend and I were not granted access to the gym. I called the facility and no one picked up. We came during staffed hours and the doors were locked. I was very confused and disappointed given that the team member that signed us up for our 7 day trial explained to us that their hours had been updated on their website. Further, I kept receiving constant automated text messages and emails reminded me to check out the gym, so I genuinely thought these folks were welcoming of people who wanted to explore a possible membership. I take my fitness very seriously and before committing to a place I want to briefly get to know the staff, feel out the vibe in the gym, and test the equipment with my distinct workouts — the two days that I was granted access to the gym was not enough. This was not only a waste of time but embarrassing as the guests inside just stared at us through the other side of the glass on the 3rd day when we were not admitted. Lastly, the use of mask is something I believe is essential in any indoor establishment during a not only national but global pandemic, and this is neither taken seriously by the staff or enforced. In my previous gym, masks were a must and it’s not an inconvenience or drastically hard to breathe through during a workout, if that is the point of concern.
I will not be giving a bad star review because I believe the gym works well for the folks that attend their fitness here. This is rather, “my experience.”
Overall, I have concluded the gym is very small; a beginner gym like Planet Fitness and not an environment where I can grow, metaphorically or physically. I understand this as the description is neighborhood gym, perhaps I should have reviewed this before coming. I will continue looking for another place that can accommodate my fitness needs. Thank you kindly for...
Read moreThis was my gym home for over the last 5 years. During that time I have witnessed numerous changes at this location, some were positive. Recently however the owner chose to reduce the square footage of the gym, this resulted in a much more cramped workout space. Some equipment was also not incorporated in to the new layout. Maintenance of the gym has suffered recently with broken wall mirrors finally removed but not replaced, numerous window blinds in a state of disrepair and often times multiple workout machines (treadmills as an example) not functional and showing signs of long term use and disrepair. The gym space itself was often littered with weights and other accessories left on the floor or not stored in an orderly fashion. Some staff members rarely took it upon themselves to keep the space clean and organized. Were it not for some contracted trainers unwilling to work in a chaotic environment, the gym would have looked much worse. I was able to make great strides in my own physical health and conditioning at this location due solely to the professionalism and expertise of an independent trainer that once worked at this location. I have found a new gym home that is very clean and well equipped. Maybe this location for AF will make the needed changes in order to remain a location that people will want to be a part of...
Read moreI love working out at Anytime Fitness in Alpharetta and have been a member since 2012. This year I returned to the Group Training taught by Michelle and it's wonderful. She plans awesome workouts that are challenging and target different muscle groups which have resulted in more muscle definition. She is always on-time, well prepared, and great at changing it up so you're never bored with her workouts. I am not one to workout by myself and I have thrived in the group training team environment. Michelle is always encouraging and I am grateful for her classes which keep me fit and healthy. I also take Corey's lunchtime classes when I can on Tuesday's and Thursday's and enjoy his mix of weightlifting and cardio. He is a great motivator and makes working out fun! If a class isn't your thing there is tons of equipment to get a great workout in! I enjoy this gym, and I am happy to be a member. I hope the reader of this review gives this Anytime Fitness and its Group Training a try and likes it as much as I do! Thank you Anytime Fitness for being a great gym and looking forward to many more years...
