Ah, Casa Nuova. Where to even begin?
So last week I was visiting my sister in Georgia from Portland, OR, and she and her husband had been telling me for over a month about the most amazing Italian restaurant that they just HAD to take me to when I got there. Well, let’s just say that the reality did not disappoint...
First of all, we had the lovely pleasure of being waited on by JC (Juan Carlos). He was an amazing server who was attentive to our every need and impressively rattled off the VERY long list of delicious sounding specials as if it were the alphabet. He made great suggestions, and was engaging throughout our entire visit. I would also like to give a shout out to Connie. While I have not personally had her as a server, my sister has many times and says that she is also equally wonderful.
As for the food, it was absolutely delightful. We had several appetizers including the calamari and some kind of stuffed peppers that were both delicious. For dinner, I had the Veal Piccata which was out of this world! And we ordered five different desserts to share amongst the table since we couldn’t make up our minds, and all were equally ridiculous, although I was partial to the Limoncello Cake and the Tres Leches Cake. We then topped off our evening with a cup of Cuban coffee which was insane!! You absolutely must try it.
And the owners, Antonio and Maria... oh my goodness! Two of the most delightful people I have met in a very long time. It is obvious how much love they have not only for what they do, but most especially for each other. If you ever want to hear an incredible story, ask Antonio to tell you about how he met Maria. But make sure you order another bottle of wine for the table first, because you are in for quite a tale. ❤︎
All in all, this is hands down, a 5-star restaurant in every way, and I can’t wait to go back and visit them again on my next trip to Georgia. — 11/26/21 Update:
Back to visit the fam in Georgia this week and had another fantastic experience at Casa Nuova. The service was superb as always, and Maria was her sweet, beautiful self. She suggested a delightful red wine that was perfectly paired with our entrees. And once again, I chose the Seafood Diablo special because it really is out of this world delicious, and as you can see from the picture, more than big enough for two. But that’s quite alright, as the leftovers are just as good the next day.
Thank you Maria and family for another lovely experience, and I look forward to seeing you again on...
Read moreThis was our first time at Casa Nuova, and it was our choice to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Casa Nuova absolutely did not disappoint! From the atmosphere to the service to the food, everything about this place is warm, inviting, and delicious. They're family owned and operated, and you can definitely feel it. We can't wait to return here and try more of the amazing dishes, confirming why this is our new favorite restaurant!
I do recommend making reservations. We were able to get same day 4:30pm reservations (they opened at 4pm), but there were only very early or very late reservations left when we looked for availability. They filled up quickly after we arrived, though they were well-staffed, and the busyness of the restaurant didn't at all diminish the service or attentiveness of the staff.
Our food selections:
Appetizers: Stuffed shells and seafood stuffed mushrooms (both specials for the day and absolute perfection). The garlic bread brought to the table as a starter was possibly the best garlic bread either of us have ever had, crisp crust with a soft inside, and delicious fresh garlic! Soup: Shared a bowl of minestrone because it sounded too good with fresh garden vegetables, and it did not disappoint! Entrees: Classic spaghetti with meatballs and Lobster dinner with shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussels and pasta diablo (Lobster diablo was a special of the day, both meals were top-tier flavorful and oh-so satisfying). We also ordered Cesar side salads with our meals that were fantastic! Desserts: We ordered a key lime pie to share but were also brought an additional dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary, and they were both delicious.
It was hard to decide what to order since so many options sounded incredible, and we know we will be back to eat here again after this wonderful experience! We did splurge with so much food and also ordered wine with dinner, making it more expensive than a normal night out, but it was a special occasion. The menu prices are overall very reasonable, and we could certainly eat here without spending nearly as much and still be very full! For the quality of food and service, Casa is surprisingly...

Review: I had the pleasure of dining at a fantastic Italian restaurant yesterday, and I must say, it was an absolute delight from start to finish! The entire experience, from the warm and welcoming atmosphere to the impeccable service, left me thoroughly impressed.
Let's begin with the food, which was nothing short of exceptional. The veal dish I ordered was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, accompanied by a delectable sauce that complemented the meat beautifully. The soup was rich and comforting, bursting with savory flavors that warmed my soul. The alfredo pasta was a true indulgence, with a creamy sauce that coated the noodles just right. And the rack of lamb was a standout dish, perfectly seasoned and cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection.
The service I received was top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. They guided me through the menu, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of my dining experience was met with care and attention. The servers were prompt and accommodating, making sure that I had everything I needed to fully enjoy my meal.
The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and cozy, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The dim lighting added to the overall charm, making it an ideal setting for a memorable dining experience
I must also mention the complimentary garlic bread appetizer, which was a delightful addition to the meal. The warm, freshly baked bread, infused with the flavors of garlic was the perfect way to start the culinary journey.
Overall, my experience at this Italian restaurant was truly exceptional. The combination of delicious food, attentive service, and inviting ambiance made it an evening to remember. I highly recommend trying their veal, soup, alfredo pasta, and rack of lamb for a true taste of Italian excellence.
