My first and last experience here. I went here because of the more great reviews. Unfortunately, my experience didn't depict that. 1 star for a speedy in and out service and the intake lady. 0 stars for customer service, compassion, empathy, awareness of a patient coming in with pain for the asian lady who took my blood pressure and NPJulia Menard.
I'm not the type of person who cries help and I try to hold my composure of being in pain. With that being said, I went to this urgent care due to an MVA with prior injuries. It was empty the entire time. Staff in front greeted me. There were two ladies. I don't recall who actually greeted me. After my intake, I waited for a short bit.
One of the gals goes and sets up the room (assuming she's the MA) announces across the room, "I can get you over here. Tells me I can sit there and going to take my blood pressure and vitals. Not even a " hi, my name is so and so, I'm the so and so, I'll be helping you today". Maybe it's just me but where's the customer service? I'm in pain and trust, I don't want to be there already. But, thanks for showing me you don't want me there either. I felt absolutely no compassion or empathy with her snarky tone and demeanor.
The NP comes in and at least she states her name and title. But, I definitely didn't feel any better. I felt I was being judged and that she looked at me in digust to be frank. No compassion, no empathy, no clear sign of any concern for my well being. She sat down, kept her distant from me from across the room and kept looking at me up and down as if (what i felt) was a waste of her time. After some questions, she then comes to evaluate me. Then, after the evaluation, stands over me talking to me. Now mind you, I'm in pain. I would think she would talk to me with eye to eye contact because I'm in pain. Or at least come to my level so i don't have to try and look up to her ( i understand i don't have to look up at her but, where's the respect of some common courtesy and compassion for a patient in pain from a Healthcare provider) Instead, after evaluating me she stays standing over me going over everything else. I really felt beneath her figuratively and literally. Then, sent me on my way.
Sadly to say this was a horrible experience as a patient coming in with pain. I really wanted this urgent care location to be my go to for my family and I because we live in this neighborhood.
Overall, if you want quick in and out service without any compassion, empathy, or care for your well being, this is definitely the go to place.
Maybe it's just me? Is this how urgent care typically treats patients? Am I asking for too much for these people in Healthcare to act like they give a damn? Please, do better. I already don't want to be there. You've also shown me you don't want me there. Either way, I'll definitely not be returning.
This is for your staff to be aware and hopefully do better. This is also for those who don't want to seek help but need to....
Read morePA honey needs to go to a real med school. A fever with an outer ear infection and full blown sinusitis is hardly seasonal allergies. Also making my ear bleed was certainly not necessary. No one is going to wait 3 weeks for necessary medicine when after 10-14 days illness is no longer considered just to be just a viral illness. Sheâs a joke. Clearly she has received improper teaching in medicine in her 22 years. My child was recovering from bronchitis and I actually took him in for a chest xray due to the deepness of his lingering cough. He never received this because she was too busy arguing with me over antibiotics and antihistamines, yet, she proceeded to tell me how red and irritated his sinus cavity still looked, even enough for her to deem a nasal spray still warranted. He was still hella congested mind you and still coughing up colored-phlegm as well. My other child was exposed to TB at school and only needed a follow up chest xray per the county request and PA Honey insisted on evaluating her despite the fact I told her several times that she wasn't sick. PA Honeyâs justification was that the urgent care isnât just a service center, but actually you literally are. Itâs a service provided to patients whoâs insurance pays for it based on treatments/ services that are literally rendered by the provider at time of SERVICE. Itâs literally in the wording. PAâs and NPâs are not qualified to staff an entire urgent care by themselves. This type of bad practice needs to stop altogether. I truly do hope she caught our âseasonal allergyâ since she treated un-masked the whole time; then she will know what it feels like. Somehow knock-off doctors have come to believe they are âgodâ and have forgotten two simple concepts. One- you literally work for us, the people. Two- antibiotics are not to be gate-kept to feed your super ego. The purpose of antibiotics is to eradicate bacteria causing chaos in the human body resulting from a bacterial illness. If you do need to see a doctor please avoid this urgent care unless itâs seriously something so very minor. You will not get decent care here and there are certainly no staffed MDâs or DOâs which is very unfortunate. This is like paying the tab for a 5-star restaurant only to be served taco bell. At one point she even literally said I was rushing her. It was simple, two chest x-rays and an ear check-up. The rest of your poorly delivered performance was not needed and it is hardly your...
Read moreOn Sunday, October 8th, I visited Maxim Urgent Care due to flu-like symptoms. Prior to this, I had visited another urgent care facility, Legacy GoHealth, on Wednesday, October 4th. Unfortunately, my experience at Legacy GoHealth was disappointing as I felt disregarded and dismissed by the doctor. They did not take my concerns seriously nor conduct a thorough medical evaluation. Despite my specific request for a PCR test, which is considered more accurate, they reluctantly performed an antigen test and informed me that it was negative for Covid. Considering the health conditions of my family members, who are vulnerable to Covid, I emphasized the importance of a PCR test to ensure their safety. However, the doctor dismissed my request and claimed that an antigen test was just as accurate. Despite my ongoing flu symptoms, I was swiftly sent home after the negative result.
However, as my symptoms persisted and worsened, I decided to seek further medical attention at Maxim Urgent Care on Sunday, October 8th. Thankfully, the care I received there was exceptional. They not only conducted an in-house antigen test but also performed a PCR test and additional tests. Promptly, they informed me that I had tested positive for strep throat and the flu. I am immensely grateful that the staff at Maxim Urgent Care listened to my concerns and took them seriously. Even though I did not have Covid, it was crucial for me to receive medical attention for strep throat. Without their diligence and attentiveness, I would have continued to feel unwell and potentially worsen. I can't express enough gratitude for the doctors at Maxim Urgent Care, and moving forward, I will only trust them with my...
