Ooo! This new New Seasons in Milwaukie is fantastic! Soooo much larger than the tiny Sellwood one. And waaaay more parking! And the employees are very helpful. It’s bright, clean, and well-stocked. The produce is fresh, the shelves are organized and full. We even found several of our favorite foods on sale. I do wish they’d offer better deals on wines though. There’s a lovely bakery, a cute floral selection, a fun pizza station, a deli full of delightful creations, an inviting coffee shop, and a large area to sit and eat. So happy this is here now! It just opened Friday and we’ve been twice, already (Friday and Saturday). UPDATE: we’ve been stopping by every week for all of the many unique items that Fred Meyer doesn’t offer. Plus, this grocery store feel safer, cleaner, and generally more cheerful. New Seasons makes a big effort to support local businesses, plus they treat their employees much better (with benefits, etc) than Walmart, Fred’s, or Grocery Outlet—so I’m happy to pay a little more sometimes because it benefits the members of our community who work there and sell their goods to them. We still buy a lot of our basic, generic foods at Fred’s, but we’re thrilled this NS is here! We hope it thrives!

Every time I visit, I’m impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff here is consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help. The store is always clean, well-organized, and stocked with a great selection of organic, local, and high-quality products. I particularly appreciate their focus on local suppliers and sustainable products, which aligns with my values. The produce is always fresh, and they have a wide variety of specialty items that you can’t find in other grocery stores. Their prepared food section is also top-notch – perfect for grabbing a quick, healthy meal on the go. Plus, they do a great job supporting the local community. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a superior grocery shopping experience!

They used to have the best produce, now it’s some of the worst. Since mid-pandemic the prices skyrocketed at this store (you can buy the same items for much less at other stores.) But I kept shopping here because they had great produce. But in the last year the quality has gone steeply downhill. I often see wilted, almost rotten produce on the shelves. The other day I saw this heap of old wrinkled cucumbers with one covered in mold (see pic.) This isn’t the only location with this issue, so it must be some kind of store policy to not remove produce that’s gone off. This combined with how awfully they treat their staff has inspired me to shop elsewhere.

BIG REVIEW. Outside the store it says your "Friendly neighborhood market" not true sadly. Prior to this store opening - the SE Division (7 Corners Store) would set aside lettuce trimmings and other produce scraps that they took off the produce when putting out on the floor and make a box that they went to people that had chickens. The SE Division store was super friendly and gave a regular day to the chicken owner folks and we just came in and picked up on our day (Mine was Wednesday). When the new Milwaukie store (MY neighborhood store just a few blocks away) opened, it made sense to go to my local New Seasons. Sadly - the store manager (Joe) and his produce manager Scott said verbatim "It's too much trouble". WOW! That means I have to go to SE Division where they happily offer this BECAUSE MY NEIGHBORHOOD STORE SAID IT WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE FOR THEM!!!! This is the antithesis of a Friendly Neighborhood Store and I want to make sure people know this. It's 100% wrong to have to go to SE Division when my New Seasons is 3 blocks away. Bad look New...

I get it… inflation. Everything is expensive. But here’s the thing… I spent $90 in this store and decided to buy the same items at another business nearby. I was able to do so for $72. The same brands.

On a second trip to the store I needed to buy their ā€˜in house’ seasoned croutons because, I determined years ago that new seasons consistently has the best in house croutons around.

Could you believe that a store of this size didn’t have them?

Yes, I know this sounds a bit petty but it was literally the one ingredient I needed to make a special dish for my family…

I can’t be the only person feeling insulted by the extreme markup at this establishment. It’s insulting and even more so that the giant mega monster that is Whole Foods sells the same things I purchased in that $90 trip for just $83.

New Seasons isn’t even locally owned anymore.

The only reason I didn’t give one star is the handful of employees I have interacted with have been fabulous.

Instead of spending lots of money to put coupons in mailers, maybe they would consider dropping the...
