My initial impression of Rae's was great. George was very personable and seemed knowledgable of diamonds. After talking with him (9/7/12), I decided to have him do a custom engagement ring. He told me it would take about 4 weeks to complete. I walked out of the store feeling confident that George was going to do a really nice job on the ring. Four weeks later (10/6/12), no call. I called the next day and was told that it would be another 7-10 days and that the ring was casted but the diamond needed to be mounted and polished yet. I was a little disappointed I had to wait longer than expected, but didn't want to rush him. Eleven days later (10/17/12), no call. I called the next day and was told it would be another week until it was done. Irritated, I drove to Rae's (10/18/12) and confronted George about the long wait hoping something didn't go wrong with the ring or the diamond. He proceeded to tell me that these kind of jobs take a long time and that basically I shouldn't be upset that it is taking longer than the 4 weeks he told me it would. He said that I should have told him I needed the ring by a certain date if I was in a hurry. He then tried to downplay the whole situation by telling me that it had only actually been 5 weeks, when in fact it had been 6 weeks plus he was telling me it would be AT LEAST another week before he was done...maybe. Having plans to give my girlfriend the ring that weekend, I felt stuck. I asked if he could guarantee that the ring would be done by next week and he said that he couldn't guarantee anything and that the ring had not been casted yet- even though they told me it had been casted a week ago. I was hoping to at least get an apology for his lack of punctuality/professionalism and my time he wasted. Instead, he became defensive and insisted I take my diamond back and that he wouldn't be able to complete the ring for me. Bottom line, don't tell someone that a job is going to be done in 4 weeks then get irritated with them when they wonder why it's taking 7+ weeks. Wish it could...
Read moreMy husband bought me an anniversary band last September and a couple of weeks ago one of my diamonds fell out of it. I work on a farm and I am very hard on my jewelry. I brought it in wondering how much it would cost to fix and they told me since it was under one year it was fully covered!! I don’t plan on buying any jewelry from anywhere else as they are amazing to work with! I will make sure to have my jewelry checked every couple of months since I am so hard on it. Thank you George! I also love working with Jocelyn as she is super nice and very...
Read moreSmall family jeweler. Love this environment instead of going to big box jewelry store. I had a ring sized there that I did not get there for a fabulous price. I also had it engraved on the inside. The ring still didn't fit so they resized it again for no additional charge. They listened to my qualms and shared their knowledge. The ring has now come out perfect; so grateful!...
