I have some mixed feeling about this place. So hear me out when I had to come and get my phone they made me do this whole song and dance because supposedly they could not give me phone because I had ordered one for pickup but the store canceled it but it was still an open claim but that makes no sense to me. But anyways once I got off the phone with someone higher up they tried to figure it out but it still wasn’t working and the woman inside the store did not want to have to call which I found irritating because these are her people can’t she work something out. Eventually they figured it out and I asked for a discount because of all the trouble or for the set up fee to be waved because of how unhelpful they were and how many hoops we had to jump through. On the phone corporate told us to ask the woman at the store and said they cannot do anything. And when we asked the woman in the store she told us to ask corporate. This was very frustrating because no one through this whole process could give a straight answer or make things happen. Now I was at this store this past week with my sister and she was able to get $700 off of a new iPhone 13 with a trade in of her cracked and damaged iPhone XR which is an amazing deal I did not get that from trading in an iPhone XS. And Austin who worked with her and made it all happen was super helpful and very friendly. He was honest about the process and everything that was happening. He was very friendly and also replaced my screen protector while I was there. So I have had a bad experience and a good experience here but my bad experience was terrible and so unhelpful. I found that when the iPhone 13 first came out and I was trying to find a place to buy it when I came in to the Verizon store it didn’t even seem like they wanted to sell a phone. I have also found that at these store there tends to be a wait. Also be cautious because this is an authorized retailer and not a full Verizon store. The authorized retailer is not able to do some of the things that a full Verizon store can. I went here for a new SIM card and was charged $10 but my mom went to a full Verizon store and it was free of charge for a...
Read moreMy experience at this “authorized Verizon” dealer was unsettling, to say the least. The individual who helped me was Jay. With behavior that was condescending and arrogant, Jay treated me with disdain, making me feel stupid because I am 75 years old and not familiar with all the au courant cell phone lingo. Manipulating the transaction with verbiage beyond the understanding of any educated person, I thought I had purchased a new iPhone 17 Pro Max at a good price point. After signing the paperwork, Jay informed me my phone wouldn’t be available for weeks, and I would have to wait until someone from Verizon contacted me. However, my new plan would start immediately despite not having a new phone. Jay rushed me out of the store because he had someone waiting for him.
The next day, my iPhone 11, which I’ve had for years, began malfunctioning and was unable to connect to a cellular network without an Internet connection. I called to speak with Jay, who said, “Okay, but I have another customer in 40 minutes.” I rushed over to the store, and in a haughty manner, Jay asked, “What do you want me to do? I have never heard of anyone having this problem. Do you want me to remove the SIM card?” I had no clue if this would work, and besides, mysteriously, my phone began working normally when Jay did something to reboot it. Shrugging it off, he said, “You can’t cancel anything until you have a new phone, and I have no idea when that might arrive.” He looked away, and my wife and I walked out of the store.
Feeling nervous, I phoned Verizon and canceled everything —the new order and the new plan, despite what Jay had told me. While I cannot comment on this store, I can unequivocally advise everyone to avoid Jay like the plague. Jay obviously shouldn’t be working with members of the human race since Jay’s superiority allows for no empathy or kindness. We are all garbage...
Read moreThe “Verizon” store on 50th street in Edina is worthless, unless you want to upgrade your phone or pay $60 for a screen protector. Wish I had the dudes name that I talked to a couple times I went here…complete nut job.
Had an issue where I was not getting text messages in a group chat with iPhone and Android users in the group. This guy told me it was a known issue and not fixable, just had to accept it. I had to turn in my phones at a Verizon corporate store (in Bloomington) and mentioned the issue and response I got from knucklehead at the Russell Verizon store in Edina. Tech here says “That’s not true. There is a fix. I hate it when some stores give you a lazy answer.” He fixed the issue by giving me a new SIM card. Decided to go back to Russell and track down “the dude” who said it couldn’t be fixed. Started by asking what options they had for car chargers. Showed me the one for $29.00. I showed him the one on Amazon for $9.99 and asked if they had that one. His response was “you get what you pay for”. Asked him to explain what he meant and he repeated same thing. I told him that the $9.99 would work the same (supported by 4500 5 star reviews). He held firm and said maybe or maybe not. OK…reminded him of our conversation about problem I was having with chat and that I had a resolution for him that he could share with other customers having same issue as me. When I told him what corporate store had done to fix, he got all defensive by saying “ we are not a Verizon store”…even though the huge sign out front says VERIZON. Then he went on to tell me that they are not allowed to change SIM cards, and he was told that there was not a fix to my issue. Will never go back to this store. They seem to churn staff very quickly, some more knowledgeable than others…but seems like the staff there now is not good at...
