BROKEN. GLASS. EVERYWHERE! Okay, so today while shopping for DVDs I heard some commotion on the other side of the store. It sounded as if someone was throwing dishes at the wall over in the dish section. This went on for about 5 minutes until finally, curiosity got the best of me, and I went to find out what on earth was going on! There was, who I thought, a customer, taking beautiful glassware off the shelves and simply DROPPING them into her shopping cart as broken glass was flying everywhere!! There were big pieces down to small shimmering shards all over the floor. She turned around angrily and DROVE OVER AND WALKED THROUGH all the glass shards and headed to the back of the store! SHE WAS AN EMPLOYEE! I went to whom I assumed was the manager and told him there were glass shards everywhere in the dish section. He simply laughed it off and said she was just removing all the old “expired” dishware from the area. Wow. I get it that it must’ve sat on the shelves too long but to throw it into the cart causing broken glass to fly everywhere causing a hazard to the customers and the little kids in the store?! I was so disgusted by this behavior I felt sick to my stomach and considered putting all my items (carefully) back on the shelves and walking out of this store. Sadly, I didn’t because I loved my newly found DVDs too much… LOL… but I will think twice about ever returning...
Read moreWe found a few furniture pieces we like and had just gotten done donating some other nice items get to the check out and about to pay and I can't find the coupon for 25% which would have saved us $25 on $100 purchase and it was the actual manager of this Minnetonka Goodwill that said well I'm sorry I can't help you and we had just got done donating a few hundred dollars worth of beautiful items we are told she had to follow the rules sorry and as we were in a hurry and I couldn't stand there and explain to her what was going on we paid the full price and left only to find the coupon from the donation drive-thru just 5 minutes afterwards. it just goes to show where these managers are at inside of a supposedly Good Samaritan store like Goodwill they have to win like that in life to get over on people and she had the gall to even ask us if we wanted to round up so Goodwill could donate that money to people in need . double standards and absolutely calling out the general manager and the manager that was on duty today at the Goodwill this morning. just remember the white office chair in the white corner desk and the trash basket the stainless steel one those people. . What's the fallacy called when one makes and changes rules for others yet adheres to none of them ever what's that fallacy...
Read moreWe shop several G.W's around the Twin Cities. FIRST on a positive note the experience is mostly good. The stores are clean and except for the toy isle, it is orderly. However the policy of allowlng negligent parents to drop their children in toy isles is VERY distressing to me. I have many grand children I shop for and quite often I .can't get down the isle. It's really disgracfull and Good Will is at risk of liability if one of those children get hurt.
Another issue is your return policies And your policy about not being able to use discount coupon on furniture.
I also get very upset when cashier's always ask if I'd like to round up, without even telling me how much the total is to begin with. While I'm glad the proceeds go to help others I am there to save money and get a good deal. Don't ask to round up.
G.W. gets their inventory for free. But the pricing has steadily been going up. I should thank G.W. since I don't buy as much anymore due to that.
I also think there should be one line to cover all the registers and cashier's can simply take next person. Men and foreigners especially don't seem to know line etiquette.
Also want to end on a positive note. Minnesota G.W. stores are the Best. When we travel out of state we visit their stores which don't even compare...
