As someone who routinely works in a clinical environment with a variety of physicians and personalities I was disappointed by this provider’s (Dr. Liem Thanh Tran) bedside manner and engagement during my in person visit. I am unsure if it is just not part of the Kaiser culture to utilize in person appointments to establish care but when I mentioned that as my main reason for being in office that day the provider seemed displeased. However as a new patient to Kaiser I was looking for the opportunity to meet my new clinician and discuss any concerns I may have moving forward. Much of that did not happen. He seems much more focused on my acne— which I only recently started on a regimen for and takes an average of 3 months to improve— and my weight— which has been steady for some time and I have no other related health conditions such as pre-diabetes, hypertension, etc., A number of attempts were made to open up conversations in various manners to see if there was a specific conversational approach that might have been better for this physician personality, however, ultimately the provider did not appear to be listening to much of what was said during this visit so many of these attempts were cut short as I did not feel I was actually being earnestly listened to and engaged with. Ultimately this was a poor first experience with Kaiser and I will not be returning to see this provider. I am hoping for a better experience with different primary...
Read moreI had right hip surgery at this Modesto Kaiser Permanente on 4/16/24. I’m from Stockton but my surgery was at Modesto because they have the surgical facilities there. Kaiser made sure I was fully prepared of what to expect, what was to be done and what happens after surgery and recovery. I must say, I had the best experience one could possibly have thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and scheduling Staff. All the care I received pre-op, surgery (Thank you Dr. Abreu) and post-op was top notch and very caring. Kudos to Joseph Ratto RN, Nassim Karbasi Pre-op Nurse, Darcy Amant RN, Dr. Anel Abreu, Dr. Justin Harrington Asst. MD, David Chang Anesthesiologist, Naoki Mirakawa PA-C Surg. Asst., Kirsten Shimizu PA, Kirandeep Ghuman RN discharge and Bernard Arcangel MA, If I forgot anyone, I blame it on the anesthia. I totally get the 5 stars Kaiser gets because that’s exactly the care I received! Thank you Kaiser Doctors and Staff for making me a new person and a extremely happy patient! At 3.5 weeks post-op, I am walking on my own and way ahead of getting back to normal, surgical scars are healing very well and I’m faithfully doing my physical therapy exercises everyday. Just waiting for the green light to get back to bowling, golf...
