Sizzler — Restaurant in Modesto

I visited this location today and like all my visits to sizzler the food, the salad bar and the service was above and beyond and because my amazing server was and her giving me a review card asking me to please rate her service in stars is the only reason I am giving the amount I gave or I would have gave this review a negative star. My server Deanna was a delight she was doing a million things at once with several tables but still found the time to make sure we had everything we needed and were check on regularly, but as with busy times something do not get done she had a couple tables that had two or three cups on them but she was doing her best to clear as many away while still taking care of us and other guests. Then I witnessed a man come to a table pick up some cups then go over to her were we can see and hear them and started to yell at her over the cups on the table. I was completely stunned at first because I wasn’t sure if I was hearing correctly so I starting to watch the man as he kept raising his voice at this poor young lady who was just doing her job, and I am giving this girl props because if I was in her shoes I would have snapped but she didn’t she turned away and composed herself after being yelled at by this man and continued to serve us. I was just so shocked and I thought maybe this man was a manager or something not sure but then come to find out he was the district manager. I mean abuse of power right there, this man in a position of authority just laying into to this poor young lady. And I giving this review in the hopes that someone from corporate sees this and takes action because it has been eating at me since i witnessed this and I am concerned for that young lady and any other staff he might be terrorizing. This is for the delivery. The portions and quality were the same as if I had been to the establishment. I feel the delivery options were over priced, and the website forces you to choose a sauce if you pick the chicken wings, which are perfect without sauce, and adding a "no sauce" note doesn't stop them from getting doused in something I didn't want. I ultimately washed the sauce off with water, and had to re-fry them myself, and while they were still edible, I feel it was a huge waste of $25. (That's for two orders.) I was very disappointed as the wings are my favorite part of the salad bar. Again, the fault lies in the website design and inability to chose a sauce free version of wings. The famous cheese toast was still excellent. The steak was medium at best, when I ordered well done, however I generally prefer medium well, and only order well done to ensure that when it is brought to me under cooked (Every place that does steak does this!) it is still at a measure of done-ness that I can eat, which prevents having to send it back. Or in the case of delivery, finish cooking it myself. I have been to the establishment numerous times and I have never had any issues there. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, the food is excellent, and the salad bar chicken wings are the most amazing things on earth. Sizzler! I wish I could give you 10 stars! I was very impressed. I came here this evening, right at dinner time, around 5pm. The last time I was here, you were doing a remodel and things were sub-par, to put it lightly. You all definitely have worked so hard! Awesome service, staff, food, atmosphere, ambience and so much more! Our server, (Cassie) was so helpful in explaining all of the choices and her service was exceptional! Speaking of choices, I had the Salad Bar that included the Taco Bar, Soup Station and Dessert Bar. Great value for the prices! The photos really don't do the place justice, but it is a preview. Fresh food galore. 4 types of lettuces, too many dressings to count, poppyseed was my favorite! A plethora of fresh veggies, fruits and other mixed salads such as crab salad, tuna salad and a many new salads. The one with mango, peach?, quinoa etc...yummy! I was overwhelmed with happiness! I asked the Manager (I am sorry, I should have got his name) if I could take a few photos (discreetly) and he was super pleasant! Great to see interactive Management too!
