Las Casuelas — Restaurant in Modesto

well my wife and my daughter and I went here to eat and have a couple drinks, food was good my drinks were good service was good I was happy ,I asked for my check they brought it to me my wife gave them her card total was $71.xx.mind you I already had a nice tip waiting for him.then he goes and slide my wifes card for $124.xx and has the nerve to come back to my table telling me I didn't have enough money .so I pulled up my wifes account and look at the transaction sure enough clear as day says they pulled out $124.xx and he sits there and laughs and says he didn't do it and still insisted that we owe him money still.so I have him call the owner cause he clearly didn't know what he was doing or he did know and got caught stealing my money.thinking the owner would have some respect she automatically has attitude saying the only people this happens to is people with no money.right! disrespectful ass "person".so im passed irritated cause they have every body looking at us crazy like were people that couldn't pay for there meal.so I tell him cancel all transactions to my wifes card and ill pay with my card and we left.....two days later what do you know my wife mysteriously gets $124.xx put back in her account and the guy swore that he only charged $58.xx to her card .so I called them to have a talk with the owner again and the same guy that I had the situation with answers and I tell him that I was right and I wanted to talk to the owner again and he wouldnt let me .he said you got your money I don't need to talk to her.so clearly he is doing something he not suppose to and the owner probly know to cause I never got a call back.so moral of the story check your account when you leave cause these people are...

Yum yum on the food, drinks and super yum on the chips and salsa. What a beautiful restaurant too with all its decorative touches and lots of seating inside! The restaurant is easy to locate and there is plenty of safe, free and well lit parking. Now when you come inside be prepared to smell all the wonderful and freshly prepared food waiting for you to order it. I hardly waited any time at all until my food came right out of the kitchen while being carried by Ms. Sairel with a beautiful smile. From the moment I walked in, I was directly seated and served chips, salsa and this delicious bean dip. I also indulged and ordered a ruby margarita with a side shot. The margarita was perfectly mixed with this pomegranate and lime flavor that is making my mouth water as I am writing this review. The extra shot was just because who doesn’t deserve an occasional side shot during dinner? I ordered the shrimp - mojo de ajo and it was so garlic and buttery, again, my mouth is watering right now…..I don’t know why; because I walked away MORE THAN full and grateful for this delicious meal, served by a kind and good human while sitting in a beautiful restaurant listening to some great music. Ordered my dinner, which was supposed to be chicken in a simmering Diablo sauce. Came out as some sort of fried chicken. Told the waiter that's not what I ordered. Brought me something else out after a few minutes and it still wasn't the correct chicken dish I had ordered. I just ate anyway. They brought the wrong tortillas out and had to ask for the correct ones. Noticed something on my beer glass, which I thought was foam at first, from the side I was drinking out of. Waiter thinks it was cheese which wouldn't have been from my dinner. So he brings me another beer. Then comes the bill. For all the F ups nothing was taken off. I said something to the waiter, whom I showed what I actually ordered from the menu and didn't get and he tells me that's notwnot he wrote down. He said, maybe he didn't hear me correctly, but repeated it when I ordered it. Same with the tortillas, he repeated it. From what he said I ordered, I told him I didn't speak Spanish and could have never said the name of that dish. Then the dirty glass. He took $7 off....
