I have lived in Monroe for four years now and I am a shameless coffee addict. As often as not i just want a cup pressed or pour-over coffee, but when I want espresso drinks or iced coffee, this is the spot. Homemade syrups and flavored milks, quality ingredients and excellent service all come together in a cozy flower shop on the way into (or out of) town.

The rotating seasonal creations are always unique and well executed, and their house drinks are excellent as well. The Winnie is my go-to if I’m not trying something new.

I have tried all the coffee shops in Monroe, and most of the are very good. We have no shortage of quality coffee and espresso drinks here in town and I’m thankful. Shout out to Alice Jules Coffee House and Sorella downtown. High Octane and KB make good drinks as well. Even among such stiff competition, the Garden Girl coffee in August Lily Florist is the stand out. It’s obvious there are passionate enthusiasts behind the operation, and I’m convinced Morgan is the best Barista in town.

If you have a little extra time, I highly recommend grabbing a seat in what was probably once the home’s living room. August Lily was suggested to us for our daughter's wedding in December and what a great decision! It was a small wedding and the only flowers we got was her bouquet but it was absolutely gorgeous! They worked with us to create a bouquet that matched my daughter's vision but stayed within our budget. We got so many comments on how beautiful the bouquet was, and it was! Apart from that, because we were there in December, they had an amazing gift shop set up with so many cute things. I went again last week on Valentines Day and they had their "Flower Hour" going all day where you could select individual stems at half price and create your own bouquet.
