Compare Foods Monroe — Local services in Monroe

I like to buy a lot of vegetables and appreciate cheap and fresh produce that Compare Foods offers in Monroe. The produce variety is great and I love their deals. I bought a huge bag of green peppers for just $3, a full bag of green beans for just 3 dollars (I think it was on sail for 80c/p). Today they sold tomatillos for 59 c/p. I went home with a FULL shopping cart and payed just $60. I have to admit, I bought just veggies and meat, but my cart was full of healthy food. Also, I have to mention the staff. They are really, really friendly folks and are always willing to help. Today I was looking at tomatillos. I had no idea what they are and I had no idea what to do with them. The produce staff saw me looking at it and ask me straight away if they can help. He told me how they can be prepared and I ended up buying a whole bag of these green tomatoes. It was just $2 and they taste fantastic! It is also okay to buy dairy and meats there. I LOVE their blood sausage. I think it is prepared in the butchery there. However, I don't like their breads. I think they offer only white bread. The dally is also very poor. But the produce really makes up for it! If you are looking for great and cheep produce, this is a place to go in...

My husband Brought lobster tails from here last night about 7pm. I put them in the freezer bc my kids changed their mind about eating them. So I took them out(today @4pm) to unthaw and after unthawing the meat smelled bad and had a dark color to it!!! I call the store to talk to a manager- who ever answered said they were so I told her the problem and this lady didn't understand some of the stuff I was saying but I told her they was going to give my kids food poisoning and she going to tell me bring back receipt and we'll take care of it. I said I don't see it here but my husband may have it, she gonna say that's the only way I can take care of it. Hell the label is here in the package!! As a regular customer, I've noticed the service in the hot food section needs improvement. On several occasions, I've encountered staff who were unfriendly and lacked basic customer service skills. Specifically, I've had negative experiences with two young employees. I confirmed their ethnicities as Mexican and Dominican by asking a coworker. I'd appreciate it if management could address this with the team. While I enjoy the store and its food, these interactions detract from the overall experience and are now making me hesitant to spend my money there, unless a particular, more friendly employee is present.
