Update 7/18/2023: They close at 1 pm now, not 1:30 like a few years ago. And if you come at 12:45, you may be in luck. They may still have one or both of their daily menu items. But don't be surprised if they have sold out of either or both. With my lunch schedule, I can't always make it before 12:30, so after that time it's catch as catch can. But I'll still run by there since it is only 2 miles away for me. You can check out her weekly menu that she posts on Sunday evening. You don't have to be a member or log in to facebook. Just type into your browser: Chef Pat Nolan Facebook and it will pop up. Best to look at "Pictures" since for some reason the picture that is in the post is always off-center when using my phone and can't see all of it. But within "Pictures" it shows up fine.
I've had food here several times. The shrimp with andouille sausage stew was excellent last Friday, 4/17/2020. I don't care much for biscuits, so I got it without and then they substituted a little salad to go with it. After I got home, I made some white rice and served the stew over the rice. Attached is picture I took of it, as it came from...
Read moreAlso known as Nolan's Pop-Up Bistro. Open Mon, Wed, Thur, Fri for lunch, 11:00 to 1:30. Still serving take-out lunches during this virus crisis. I ordered 2 lunches on Wed 4/15/20 to take home. $10 each, tea included. We had the Curried Chicken over white rice. Made fresh. Not real spicy; I added some extra curry powder, black pepper, and green peas when I got home. Otherwise extremely good. I also ate here back on Friday, Feb 28 and had the blackened catfish over Spanish rice with broccoli. Made fresh. It was very good, although a little salty. Slightly disappointed that it was served in styrofoam take-out containers in a sit-down restaurant, but hey, it's a pop-up restaurant, so she is prepared for quick catering and events. She also has salads and desserts. She and her staff did an excellent job at the Celtic Fest back in Oct 2019 with her Scottish Stew. Parking can be a little difficult here on St. John Street being one-way and one lane, so search side streets, especially the one just after you turn onto St. John from Desiard. The food is well worth the 1/2 block walk. Pictures are from my visit of...
Read morePat is a wonderful kind woman and also makes the most amazing food! Everything is always delicious there, and we're always looking over the weekly-updated menus to pick out which days we want to visit most.
The lunch menus often have 2 or more choices that all look so good you'll want to order both, but also offer vegan, vegetarian, salads and/or lighter dishes as options for anyone with dietary restrictions.
Her food is made with the same quality, care, and time as family home cooked meals. I enjoy the creative/unique twists she puts on some of my favorite foods, like her Thai Chicken Curry is absolutely incredible! And the best part is she serves such giant portions that are likely enough food for 2 meals! Highly...
