Today (April 20) we went to Planters for my sister's birthday and it was the worst experience ever. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles with a coke. When my food arrived, the chicken was hot, but my waffles were a mixture between cold and warm. I asked the waitress if she could take it back and just warm up the waffles. No biggie. After 20-25 minutes she returns and tells me they don't have a microwave to reheat it nor did she offer to make it over since it took her long enough to bring it back. She tells me that they put it by the oven to try and heat it up but that was the best they could do. She offers me a to go tray. Hmm ok. So, I asked my sister were the refills free since she never once offered to refill any of our drinks and I was told they were. I asked my waitress if I could have a refill and she said took my cup and never brought it back. My sister and friends had finished their food and were getting to go boxes when she came and proceeded to ask if I needed anything and I said yes, can I get the cup you took from me earlier with my coke in it. She apologized and brought me and my godson's cups back that had been sitting on the counter for over another 15 minutes and gave it to me. It was watered down, go figure. I was so frustrated with the service. That was my first and absolute last time...

From the view, to the atmosphere, to our waitress Faith, to the food… Planters is one of my absolute top 3 restaurants ever! I have eaten across the country at extended places . We’re soo fortunate to have an amazingly talented chef in our little southern nook. The house salad with 2 choices of dressings, also complimented the fries fried in duck fat. The duck wrapped in 🥓 was more than divine, it was a mouth filled with flavorings consisting of sweet, smoked, crunchy, meaty to savory flavors bursting on your every palate . The creme brûlée was a light sweet end game to our experience. I’m leaving the pizza for the last to review. The cheese wasn’t our favorite. After sharing our thoughts with our server, sounded like this is a work in progress. Excited to taste the new oven baked pizza. Overall… we enjoyed ordering a variety of items and sharing them. Thank...

I give Planter’s Gastropub 2 stars for a few reasons. Over the last several months, there are many food and beverage options that are consistently out of stock. For starters, Michelob Ultra and vodka should never be out of stock. Your staple drink is a mule, which requires vodka... The staff blames the person who orders, but nobody seems to know who that is. Initially I thought well maybe a large party came in and bought them out, which turns out to be the patterned excuse. Order more product or order more often.

Lastly, we live in Louisiana and we all know it gets hot. Now, this restaurant needs to look at upgrading their A/C. Forgo to desk sized fan that sits below the menu board and get a working unit. Customers don’t enjoy consistently whipping themselves which trying to enjoy their...

Same great service you would expect from the child of Restaurant Cotton. This is my GO TO spot for pizza, martinis, mules, good atmosphere, and apps. You will not regret spending the evening over a duck pizza, grilled oysters, and drinks at this place. The bar staff is knowledgable and awesome. Did I also say THE OYSTERS ARE PHENOMENAL AS WELL AS THE DUCK PIZZA. My suggestion is a dozen Hemingway oysters. Nice place tucked away from the crazy hustle and bustle. They also host events. One of the best views of the river is from their balcony with plenty of tables and lounge area.

Take the side stairs up & above Cotton restaurant, hang a right, then a left, and another right, where you'll find one of the best views of the Ouachita river, sip on custom made drinks from excellent bartenders, and enjoy the results of delicious pizza recipes crafted with lots of TLC and attention to detail. The balcony is a great place to watch the sunset over the water or a mardi gras parade cross the bridge. One of my favorite spots in Monroe.
